Hello All,

I have lived a somewhat nomadic existence in my recent adult years. Due to my current residence being foreclosed I had consulted the Yi about where I should plan to be next. The options are the region I am in now where I have started to develop relationships to people and places around me; or moving down south where I am from. The Yi had referenced my "home" a few times and after thinking about it I couldn't figure out where that actually is. I understand that it is more of an idea, for example the place where my friendly allies and support are. However, I have friendly allies in both places. Support mostly comes in the form of advice but other than that I am pretty independent. As long as I have a phone my "support" is always there.

I asked "Where is home for me?" The response, 50 "The Vessel"

I can relate to the feeling that I am in a trans-formative period of new beginnings. If the vessel is to signify stability and foundations for new life I can see that as meaning that I am just now beginning to create "home" for myself. I almost want to say that I feel more like the vessel itself and I am just beginning to create stability and develop new life within myself rather than apply it to an actual place. Maybe I don't have a definitive physical "home" because I haven't established it yet?

I guess what I really want to know is the questions I should be asking in order to get to the bottom of this particular question. I feel like if the Yi is making reference to my "home" we should be on the same page as to what/where that is.

Hello, Serinasioux:)... Great name! Are you a Sioux descendent?... I think Lavalamp is on the right track here. 50 is referring to a state of being, not a place here, I think. A nurturing environment of unity and sharing. Sharing your life with others, and vice versa. Also, being close to God or Divinity, or however you see it... Beginning new every day, every moment... So, I guess the Yi is pointing out that you can create a "home" anywhere at any time with anyone, if you are at home in yourself. This reminds me of that line, I can't remember which one... Found it! I think this provides some insight to the Yi's take on the word home.

From LiSe's...
Hexagram 41
Above 9: Not diminishing, increasing it. Without fault. Determination auspicious. Harvest: proceeding probing. Acquiring servants, without family.
A soul in which diminishing and augmenting do not exist, has no ego. He can find his road simply by walking it. He will find servants without offering them a place to live because being close to a soul like this has more value than anything else. He needs no home, he is a home.

Perhaps asking the consequences of moving to location X would give a more specific answer. I don't know if the Yi isn't being philosophical here. Hope this helps:).

Maybe it's just because I day dream about it myself, but hexagram 50 reminds me of the movable feast of living in a small RV.

I like the houseboat, personally:), but it does have kind of a home you can move around in feel to it. Maybe would be good for you since you like to move around so much. I have a friend who dreams of getting a bus, and transforming it into a home he can drive around the country in, selling his art. To each their own! I don't even like to move off the couch if I don't have to:blush:.

Hi Serinasioux,

::My Interpretation::

50 is a picture of a ritual vessel to cook food. Although it would seem to be pointing directly at a kitchen in this reading, maybe it is referring to the spiritual nourishment of a home in general, like I think Lavalamp is implying. The kitchen is a wonderful place to gather inside the home. It is the most ritualistic area of the home IMO. But a home in general really creates a stability in one's life.

More importantly than that, the vessel has legs that must be kept strong and in tact or the whole vessel is useless and the above, spiritual nourishment, can not be as easily attained. The legs of the vessel represent stability and staying put to strengthen the surroundings that are already there. If you positively commit to a home, it allows the spiritual growth to have a place to flourish.

Because your question was "Where is home for me?" It is as if the Yi is asking you which place has the best vessel legs. Only you know that ;)

Take care,
AQ
