Hello and thanks in advance for any feedback on this :)

I moved to my current flat a year ago, to be closer to the shops, to start afresh,
to move forward from a very difficult couple of years. Now I find myself
wondering whether I was a bit rash in my decision. I know I can't go back to
my old place and so there is no point dwelling on it. Some positive changes have
happened in my life since I moved, I have cleared loads of stuff with the move,
but I can't help thinking I may have downsized a bit too much and made a mistake
as I now have a noisy downstairs neighbour. I asked the I Ching for advice and feedback
that might help me see things a bit clearer and deal with my concerns.

I received hexagram 18 line 3 changing to hexagram 4. Is this saying that I was maybe a bit impulsive but no real error has been made? I am not sure and would value any
insights, thankyou

Yellocat,

The reading is very good. Your really struggling at the minute and Yi knows this. But its given you the line to hold on a bit longer. Your worrying is causing you resistence to just jump right into this new place. Take charge and don't be disheartened, There will be setbacks still to come, but if you keep your central idea in mind, and push on, eventually these will dissappear.

Its not gonna automatically fix itsef though, You need to be the leader and push through thse things. act. if youve got a noisy neighbour, complain. if something else happens, take control of it and sort it out. Youve got the power in you to make this place a lovely home, just keep going, and push through any obstacles you might find. take charge. create the space around you that you want. the casting says you can do this, despite the present obstacles your facing.

Agreeing with Yxeli that you haven't made a mistake. The reference in hex 18.3 would indicate the process of the move to me -- saying that you had to push almost a bit too far to leave behind what was troubling you and holding you back. It may seem now that you did too much in your Hex 4 youthful enthusiasm. Hexagram 4 is unfairly called "Ignorance" in some commentaries. In my own experience it has also meant exuberance and that moment when we recapture hopefulness of adolescence and an open-minded attitude. Sounds like you might have felt locked-in and now you have shaken loose and are moving. The only way to begin again is to get moving as you have, take the bad with the good, and use the process to explore new possibilities. If you're down-sized now, then change is far simpler to make again if you can't convince the people downstairs to keep the volume down. I think the Yi says here -- So maybe you went a bit far, but nothing less would have really freed you or given you the new information you needed to have. It's the image in 18.3 that shows something being bent, perhaps a bit too far, but that being the only way to correct something that wasn't straight in the first place.
