Context: Currently, having issues at work as company has a project where I am supposed to play the role of product owner on top of current finance role, but with lack of structure, no one in office, and a non-cooperative team mate I am unsure of what the future holds or if I should consider leaving. On top of that, I am trying to study my masters part-time which has conditional requirements which makes this whole situation complicated and stressful. With no support and difficult classes, I feel in a rut.

How am I supposed to do this role?
Hexagram 32.2.4 > Hexagram 15
Line 2 says I will not regret taking on this role, however Line 4 says there is no game in the field, so I should try to find something else perhaps or look for another job? Still don’t understand does no game in the field mean that I don’t have game because of my skill-sets, or the lack of structure in company a CEO’s inflexible attitude and the saleswoman not wanting to share information and work with me?

Should I switch to an easier remote class or stay in the current harder one this semester?
Hexagram 50.6 to Hexagram 32
Not entirely sure but think this is saying stick with the harder on-campus one, and there will be success. 32 says I will have to persevere…?

32.2.4 - 15. Keep on keeping on.
So unless this is saying do whatever you have to do for your own survival, I think these lines are indicating you should endure this job and do the best you can. Perhaps you are feeling you should do more but if you aren't being given the support you need you simply can't. So the way to play it is to do what you can do. If the higher ups don't like it they will probably eventually want to ask what's the problem and then you can negotiate but at this time it looks like you needn't stress the problems you can't fix.

50.6 Sounds like you should hang in there with the class you're in now.

Thanks for replying Rosada, it really does feel like I am just doing stuff to survive in this empty work environment to please the CEO. Even if I go above and beyond impressing other coworkers, my CEO feels like the work product is never good enough. I suppose that line 2 "no game in the field" refers to lack of a supportive environment I have no help from rather than me being incapable.

I will hang in there with my current class, just thought it might make sense to swap to an easier remote one given situation.

Hi jp78
There may be a bit more in this reading. Right now, you are looking at things as being too much for you in a context of both the work and study aspects of your life. You have a lot going on right now, and are asking a lot of yourself. This is not a matter of you being incapable but one of finding ways to work smarter in your life that will give you some respite and move you out of the rut you see yourself in.

How am I supposed to do this role?
Hexagram 32.2.4 > Hexagram 15

You are supposed to do the role by being consistent in your approach.

First and foremost, stay true to yourself, however lay down a few ground rules clarify things and bring some structure to your expectations of the others you work with and their expectations of you, and slowly things will improve. Currently the way you are working and communicating and the decisions you are making are not effective so your approach, and that role that you have been playing up until now, has to be left behind. Test the waters and make any changes slowly and consider all you do from a perspective of how can I simplify, even if it means making a few U-turns. Others may have good ideas on how to improve matters so think creatively on how you can bring them into the fold.

Should I switch to an easier remote class or stay in the current harder one this semester?

Difficult question this, as you are asking two questions at once.
Hex 50 means 'grasping renewal' and Hex 32 'lasting'. A strong part of any renewal is to be flexible and adaptable. So the class you choose is going to make a real difference to you and taking either will benefit. However be careful of taking on too much (check out fan yao of 32.6). Deal with what is in front of you now. Pick the course that will be the best for you to to cope with at this time.

Of course the reading may mean none of these things.

Good Luck

Thanks my_key. The woman who I work with does not like to share information (she's defensive too) and everyone in the company knows this so I have been trying to be extra nice to her and take a different approach. I am changing my ways despite the lack of structure.

I attended the in-class session Tuesday night and it was very fast paced, therefore I feel that taking the online class will probably allow me to cope easier with the difficult material. However, when I asked the I-ching if taking the online section of the current class would be better it seems to hint I should not take any action and be receptive?

Is it better for me to switch to the online section of the Current Class I am in?
Hexagram 47.2.4.5 > Hexagram 2

From line 2 that I should not take any action, or that I will have make sacrifices (in regards to time?)
Line 4, there is some shame/humiliation if I switch to the online version of this class?
Line 5, "nose and feet cut off" so there's no one to help out if I do switch...

Again not so easy to interpret the divination as you have swapped to a closed question that only asks for a yes or a no, however the Yi looks to be looking beyond this and asking you to step a bit farther into the landscape of the decision making process:

Hex 47 means 'mutual meeting' ; Hex 2 means being 'supple'. So you are being asked to work in a space of suppleness, to bend towards realising the things that will truly be of benefit to you. How can you work to get a win / win out of this?

The situation you find yourself in is one of feeling exhausted and cut off inside a bag of tricks that all are all calling out for your attention - the course (edit: class) is just one of the threads. The lonely trial of the Mare needs your attention in order for you to find the right nourishment you need. Pick a direction to go (this can equally be an inner direction - e.g. a change of heart, a change of attitude, a change of thinking, or an outer direction or behaviour) and then be gently receptive to the things that arise and you'll see that you will reap the rewards of your new ways.

line 2 - Suggestions on what is out of kilter for you about this situation. You are not getting the right 'nourishment' at the moment and that is impacting the way you see situations. Soon though you'll be able to see things more clearly and take a greater responsibility for the way you walk in the world.

line 4 - Insights into finding the right choices. You'll see what is the right decision to make but it'll only come to you over a period of time. You'll have to overcome some troubles and embarrassments but in the end things will bee seen clearer.

line 5 - Insights on how the situation will present itself to you. Whatever is cutting you off is going to make you feel very isolated, but little by little things take a turn for the better, especially if you are able to let some of the inner things go that are holding you back.

Again, my interpretation may be nothing like how you or others see it.
Good Luck

Thanks again my_Key. Interesting interpretation. I should know better by now that I should have asked rather a "how" question, like how would switching to the online version help me cope with class.

A space of suppleness, I see as a flexible environment and doing something online fits that, reducing my commute and allowing me to watch lectures when I can vs. struggling to get into the city and keeping up with Professor's lecture. Just a thought.
