What do I need to watch out for and be aware of in Dr. Z's office?

Hexagram 36 unchanging!

How bad is it??? Will he try to harm me in some way? Or does it talk about him?

Hm, just scrolled down the list... I don`t know nearly enough of the situation, but something is not clear there, or not revealed to you. Some facts may be hidden or something is not being done in a correct way.
Say you coming there and start running the office, for example, and find out that there are some irregularities from the past, or some things come to light in the working process...story connected to the hex speaks of a court man who held his light/awareness hidden, meaning you should keep discreet, a low profile and then gradually, increase the situation, like 41.6 says. Perhaps, fix, report, move towards a better position?
Just guessing, hope it makes some sense, d.

Hi Dragona :) This is the situation....

I asked the question because the stress and pressure and the demands of the position are damaging my health. The doctor is also very demanding he tries to help me as much as possible but he doesn't understand the administration part of the job. Instead of helping he creates more problems. He is a control freak. He sometimes sees about 50 patients in 4 hours! I'm alone and I have to juggle my time between being his right hand at his beck and call, doing ECG's, faxing, troubleshooting, complaints, phones, front desk, physicals, filing, preparing patient files, enrolling new patients, dealing with the specialists etc....all this has to be done in 5 hours! It's a walk-in clinic so we have no control over daily events...It's too much for me.

This week I had a panic attack in front of the patients and started yelling at the doctor. BTW the patients are wonderful they understand my predicament and they are very supportive. The doctor wants me to do 5 things at once! He wants to run the clinic like a fast food joint! So today I did not show up. I called my replacement and she went. We have a certified medical secretary I've trained to follow the system I've set up. I'm not a medical administrator. I'm a school director hence my excellent organizational and leadership skills. I'm used to a structured environment with rules and regulations. The doctor is very demanding and out of control no one wants to work for him. He wants it now and doesn't respect the fact that I have to juggle things on my end. He is always calling me to do this and that while I'm busy at the front desk. If I let him run things his way it can become a crazyhouse in there. He creates all the chaos! So i did not show up!

So I had asked:

What do I need to watch out for and be aware of in Dr. Z's office and I got Hexagram 36 unchanged. Does this mean he does not appreciate me. I'm not validated. Or that I have to be careful I do not cause him harm and injury to his reputation. The patients seem to respect me more than him and yelling at him in front of the patients was no good. There are private things I know about him and I have to cover alot for him. He is a wonderful man but he needs to retire.

Best course of Action regarding job

Hi everyone! I don't know who has been following my posts regarding my dilemma with my present high pressured work situation. I'm self employed BTW. I have to make a decision as this position is detrimental to my well being.

What is the best course of action concerning my job at Dr. Z's clinic?

Hexagram 1 lines 3, 4 and 5 changing into hexagram 41

Does it mean that I have the freedom to stay or leave and that my posiiton is strong but the best thing to do is to leave the job for the sake of my well being? Or to cool down and stop worrying about it so much?

Thanks:bows:

Looking at the Wilhelm/Baynes translation, I think the advice may be to try and lay low, hide your light, stabilize yourself and allow for things to pass. There is a reason you are going through this episode, a creative process, albeit painful (''all day long the superior man is creatively active') Try to naviguate through it and allow yourself to be transformed. See that both 'positive' and ' negative' experiences are part of the development process.

At the foot of the mountain, the lake:
The image of DECREASE.
Thus the superior man controls his anger
And restrains his instincts.

Hello, I wrote back 2 days ago, but my computer froze.
Will try to repeat, still does not feel old.
Surely helps to know more of the background, I got the idea you were running the office, actually. Since you mentioned the problems, old ways of running things that still resurface, I thought, no wonder you got 36 then, as the reflection of the association you have of him, as the boss and the problems from the office you inherited.
Brightness Hidden or Brightness Wounded was explained by the story of the court man who was among others, all miss behaving and drunk to the point of disoriented, so he played along, pretending to be even worse, in order to shelter himself and not ally with inferior crowd.
So you are not to leave, just keep your light hidden and proceed with good work. Perhaps not give so much of yourself emotionally, regard this as business only - I find this indicated also in the 6th line, quoting from Hillary`s book:
41.6: Not decreasing, increasing it - not a mistake.
Constancy, good fortune.
Fruitful to have a direction to go.
Gaining servants, not a home.

"What you offer up here brings blessing and is no real loss, because you are following a god course; you do well to persevere. Rather than stopping at what you have gained...keep looking though and beyond it, asking where it takes you next, how it is developing and how it can be of service.
The reward for your offering is not the place to settle down; it does not define where you go or what you do. Instead you gain the support and the strength to move in your chosen direction. There is no intrinsic value in this; the value all lies in what you are going to do with it."

So, you are increasing the place, helping it prosper. Plan ahead, where it takes your career or how it helps your life. But this is just a job, perhaps not a calling, so think of it as such.

There was a question about hex 19 and I think you wondered if you will have to leave the job by September, but the idea underlines what was mentioned here, the harvest is the time of gathering your hard works rewards but not the end of the working process. So we are reminded here not to rest on the laurels but be mindful and carefully proceed with the good work, if we want good times to stay with us.

What is the best course of action- 1.3,4,5<41
I see this as a description of your state- you work hard and try to make things happen, burdoned with thoughts of work, while wondering how to cope the best way or if you have the strength for it , warn down. But all the while I think you are being advised to be creative about the work, perhaps change the atmosphere or the ways things are being done and discuss it with the doctor, especially if you have some ideas well thought through.
I get the feeling that line 5 speaks of the creative collaboration that could happen there.

Wow! :) Thank you Dragona (and by the way our pharmacist is named Dragona) It's like you work there with me. Yes me and the doctor do collaborate and discuss how to improve things together. We are a team. He gives me strength and support. It's not him it's the nature of the job too stressful and I have panic attacks in front of everyone! Don't give myself emotionally you said the key words. It's just business that's exactly what the doctor tells me! He says don't let things affect you. It's business. Wow! You know what with your reading you opened my eyes and this took another direction. I'm seeing things differently. Maybe this is a learning experience. My weakness is that I overreact and get emotional about things. I push myself too hard and don't take breaks I'm go go go for 6 hours straight not even to drink water...that's what I need to tell the doc...him too, I have to tell him to stop and go eat! Thanks Dragona for the insightful analysis :)

See, when I am a bit better, I can be of use. Thank you, for saying that.
And I think you are very appreciated in your work place, even more then you think. It is hard to stand out, keep it up as you do cos not everyone have your drive, perhaps even for the better, otherwise one burns out quickly, especially if hadn`t adopted somewhat thicker skin. I am just amazed how well the story of Prince Ji from what Hilary revealed in her book, suits you here, even the drunk and confused (mentally) courtsmen.
Hex 1 I really really like, cos I feel it is filled with possibilities -Creative Chaos -could you possibly be less orderly like there?

My name actually means just that, The Dragon, Draco and all the while I thought it meant quite the opposite...but never heard Dragona is an actual female name. Great.
