How Can I Be a More Positive Person? 28.5>32

Hi dear friends, I asked the oracle how I can be a more positive person, as I have a great and very tenacious tendency to be negative and find what's wrong in everything. The response was 28.5 > 32. Yes, I'm an older woman (54) who would love to fall in love again, but it's not on the horizon... so other than that literal interpretation, how might I view this response? Thank you all!!

Yes, I am 52, and I am a regular 28.5 myself.

I think it means that you need to perhaps rejuvenate in some way, grow new branches and blossoms.

Otherwise, you will be like an older woman, who marries a young man ( a new life) and cannot produce a child ( an heir, a new way of being). I think I need to heed this as well as you.

The fact that you WANT to become more positive is commendable. H32 shows that we can not only change, but endure---- I vow to as well, and I wish you and myself the best of luck!:bows:

Seriously, I find the I Ching is not particularly good with "How do I ... " questions. After all, it cannot speak a language and therefore cannot give explicit instructions. It has more to do with the underlying thought or attitude than with the execution or the doing of things.

So, my honest opinion is that I think it is a sarcastic response.

The woman in 28.5 is having the relationship with the younger man purely for the pleasure of it, not to produce progeny. That is the whole point of the line. Something is enjoyed for its own sake.

So in terms of your question it might suggest that you consciously begin to enjoy things for their own sake not for results. Perhaps what you call 'negativity' ( which is a very general word) is rooted in a kind of wish to always see results see the fruits of your labours ? It mught be a suggestion to slow down and take time to look at the flowers. Like the older woman in the line who can have great sex for hours on end with the younger man with no fear of getting pregnant. The sex isn't about children its about fun !


So in general in your life think of where you seek results...it may even be a subconcious habit, something you got used to doing in younger days. 28.5 can be quite literal and a great positive in getting older is that often people begin to enjoy each experience for what it is without expecting more to come from it

That is an excellent interpretation of 28.5, which is often viewed in a purely negative purview.
