I asked the IChing "How can I better communicate with you?" (Sometimes I feel I'm not asking the right question.) This answer is perplexing. Danger? Is it dangerous to communicate? Line 2 - The danger is great and cannot be surmounted in a single effort?

It says to seek small gains.
Do you mean communicate or listen?

29.2 The abyss is dangerous. One should strive to attain small things only.

Assume the responses you get are geared to your level of understanding - no need to search for deep profound insights, your first impression is probably not too far from the truth. If a reading makes no sense, let the hexagram float in your mind for a bit. Most likely you will soon start to see your situation morphing to align with this new perspective.
So I think you are being advised here that you should begin by assuming the I Ching is giving you simple answers you can understand and not get overwhelmed thinking, "Oh I'm probably not really getting this, I need more books, more help, more study," but rather assume that while your interpretation may not be The One and Only Right One or even one you yourself will agree with a day or two from now, by attempting to understand it and ACTING on your understanding you will strengthen your connection. It's important that you act on the advice or, as I Ching warns in hexagram 4, to just keep asking questions is importuning and IC will give no answers.

Thank you. Good advice, It is wise to take baby steps ... This was the essence of my question ... Sometimes I feel limited by questions. The IChing will answer any question I ask; but, maybe my questions aren't what's important in my life. Perhaps I should focus on something outside of the scope of my imagination. How can I tap into that? As you say I should be satisfied with small gains.

The moment you learn anything new,
you have increased the scope of your imagination. When you can't differentiate between your imagination and reality, that is one form of madness.

You can try asking different kinds of questions than you normally do.
More open ones like,
"What about today?"
"What is a good way to improve myself?"
"what is good to know about this?"

Baby steps yes, but there is something about your question, or the intention behind that also carries this message, "This canyon holds risks."
You'll have to figure that out.
Ask Yi what the risk is.

YES! Thank you! That's what is interesting, right? What is the risk? I'll ask.

I asked The IChing what is the DANGER of communicating better with you? I received Before the End 64.1 leading to 38. Line 1 "you do not see clearly the implications and consequences of your actions. Any actions will bring you problems. ". So, I'm interpreting this to mean: If the IChing alerts me to an issue that I am currently unaware of, then by definition I wouldn't see it clearly ... or I'd be aware of it. So the IChing is afraid It would create problems for me.

Any more insights on these answers ?

Cross referencing as you now ask same question later here but 14 months later so there's been time to assess changes between this old question and your new one.
