This is a continuation of this conversation here:https://www.onlineclarity.co.uk/fri...should-I-have-persevered-Hex-3-Line-3Although I was mulling over when I'd be ready to leave my current job and move on, I left much more suddenly than anticipated. I was shaken out by the realisation that the task being expected of me was too great. I am sad that the challenges of my current job overcame me. Being insecure about my strengths I am now nervous that this bodes poorly for the future. I don't want to be in a position where I leave another job suddenly, due to feeling defeated by the tasks expected of me.I asked the I Ching a rather muddled question, but the answer appears quite clear. Which I found interesting as though it understood my meaning, and cut to the point of my dilemma. This was my query:"I feel sad that I was defeated by this task. Help me gain clarity on the status of my situation, How can I shore up that which is vulnerable in me now?"I received hexagram 24 - with changing lines 2,3,5 & 6 - changing to hexagram 9I've started using the following system of reading the lines, which helps me to avoid wading through lots of seemingly contradictory advice.https://www.ichingonline.net/read3.php"Where there are four changing lines, read the upper non changing line." This in the case of my reading was Line 4So the first Hexagram speaks of the natural ending of a cycle of birth, growth and death. Reassuring me that it's OK, it was the time for endings. This work has been completed. Although objectively my work projects are not completed there, my personal work there is completed. What I had to do is done. I agree with this. I can gain no more from being there. I can do no more than I have done.Line 4 tells me not to concern myself with others and with external goals. Look to my own light and follow my own path. Do not compare myself to others. I agree with this. We can only do what we can do, and we each need to seek our own path. The changing hexagram gives me the most important advice I think. Gentle restraint. Do not be overambitious in reaching for new goals. Be gentle with yourself. I can be over ambitious, this is telling me to hold back, take care and tend to the small things. This is definitely sage advice. If others have any further comments, please feel free to share.
