How does he feel about me leaving the country?

Things have finally come to fruition and I have taken a job in another land. I wrote to my one again/off again lover in a mail to all of my local friends and let them know I am leaving the country..and I said goodbye. I wrote a graceful goodbye to everyone, to the people that have meant the most to me. He is definately on that list, despite the difficulties.



I haven't heard back from him yet (it has only been a little while since I let him know via mail) and he and I have some unfinished business of an emotional nature.

I am not sure how he would feel about the fact that I decided to go, and to go so far away. So I asked:

How does he feel about me moving to another land?

not sure why though..or I could say that the background of this one is the same, hex 22..depending on the relation of the relating hex.
Six in the third place means:
Bites on old dried meat
And strikes on something poisonous.
Slight humiliation. No blame.

Nine in the fourth place means:

Bites on dried gristly meat.
Receives metal arrows.
It furthers one to be mindful of difficulties
And to be persevering.
Good fortune.

I then asked:

WILL X respond to my mail (of goodbye)?

and got hex 17.5 Following with related hex 51 (not suprising since 51 was the initial answer)
Nine in the fifth place means:
Sincere in the good. Good fortune.

I hope this specifically means that he will, at last, answer very sincerely..
oh well, we will see..all things come full circle.

I would say that he is quite stunned by your actions and is not sure what to do, so he is keeping still and with drawing from further involvement to avoid any more pain or humiliation.

Hex 22 being and finding contentment with what he is doing and not seeking anything else.

Thanks for your help. When you said, "it would be in his best interest if he does not respond and I think he knows it" it made me wonder..why?

I think that I am the one who got most hurt here...I think. I just don't know.

Following up on your statement I asked the IC:

Answer 30.1 The Clinging Fire with related Hexagram 56 The Wanderer.

OK, this makes since as I am The Wanderer...but the main answer, 30 The Clinging Fire, specifically line 1 says:

Nine at the beginning means:
The footprints run crisscross.
If one is seriously intent, no blame.

I see hex 30 being about the power of human consciousness and to me relates to Hex 1 somehow..about human intention, and the fate we create.

"The footprints run crisscross", we have discussed this before. Could it mean mental intentions? or a crossing of paths again? or???

Funny in a way that I got that answer as my email to everyone saying that I was moving (on which he was CCd) was entitled: There is no distance too great when fate wills that people shall meet.


He and I have so much unfinished business, I wish that we could clear it up before I go, but my instinct tells me it will be later, perhaps in the Spring.

It would seem to me that if I were making such a big step as leaving the country I would certainly want to convey this in person to one so important to my life as a significant other. May be he is shocked you didn't call him or tell him in person. I certainly would be. Maybe I am just old-fashioned, so pardon me if I seem crass.

I did tell him directly, first..via text message. It was not possible in person as we have not been talking because I was unhappy with his latest behaviour.

Today I wrote to him,personally a long letter..one that I should have wrote in the summer probably.

I sent him a detailed letter telling him things that I should have told him in the summer. I never told him before how much it hurt me when he told me about his wifes pregnancy and a few other things and I never told him that it hurt because I was in love. So for the first time I said to him in the letter: I was really in love with you, this entire thing has been very painful. But of course, I went into much more detail in the letter.

It felt like a relief to finally say these things.

Hi Laylab
You must be feeling very confused at the moment - perhaps it would help you to take a bit of a step back. I have found this to be a good path to take advice when I get into machine gun questioning mode.

Your friend is consumed by other influences and writing back to you is not the most important thing on his mind right now(50.2). But be strong (you do have the strength) and do not let this get you down. You have to consider the wider picture here and when you do you will see changes in the situation starting to happen (50.5). Search inside yourself and look for the positives in this situation - every cloud has a silver lining(50.6)

It is right and proper that everyone seeks and needs love and affection. You need to think deeply about what is happening in this relationship. Neither of you has set out to hurt one another but maybe things have got to a point where each of you is not getting what you need. (31)
