As I am having trouble disengaging, stepping back, waiting, etc, I asked "How long must I wait?" I got 41, unchanging. Decrease.

Any thoughts?

if you are deriving all of this using magical methods - no help is possible since those methods cover all 4096 and do not sort them consistantly into an order that fits the context.

Try the piecemeal approach by answering these:

(1) is the situation about facts or values (for an emotion-derived answer, FEEL this question and if you like 'ask' your emotions to indicate the answer - same for the below)?

(2) is this about what was/is/will-be or about what could-have-been/is-not/could-be?

(3) are you instigating the situation or responding to it?

If you are unsure of a question then go back in time to a position where you were sure - and then answer as a changing condition (e.g. "NOT sure about (3) now, but I was responding but now I dont know" - implies you are changing from response to instigation etc)

Otherwise what you have with 41 is not necessarily the 'best fit' for the situation so the only comments can be on the nature of 41 as a universal, and so not neccessarily fitting your local context.

For coverage of the universal see http://members.iimetro.com.au/~lofting/myweb/lofting/x100011.html

The two bowls filling and emptying refer to two full cycles of waxing and waning. I believe the Yi is saying you must wait for two lunar months.

A great deal might depend on whether those two bowls are half full or half empty.

If you can't be helped, it's at least nice to know you could be humored. I confess, that I too am often little more than humored by Yi's advise. Shame on me, and thank you for pointing it out. :bows:

August Moon-
Back on another thread you asked about practical techniques for disengaging.
I posted a suggestion to look at 33 and 12. That post seems to have been ignored,
but I think it's still not too late to disengage in that way, specifically by walking
away in a forward direction with better things to do than suffer. It's (usually) easier
to distance ourselves from things that we value as not good for us, unless we have
some subtle reason to punish ourselves (we all know that one). Anyway, you really
are free to find something better, once you've rested at least. Your comment sort of
suggested a little exhaustion from this, Hex 47 and words without conviction.
