Hello everyone,

Just went though the list of agents that turned it down, or have never replied, all 13 of them. Some of them were quite sweet about my novel, but lacked confidence they'd be able to sell it. I know the book is good, that's not the problem. The way I see it, the problem may be in me not being ready to be "seen." I say I am, but perhaps that's just bravado.

I asked Yi How can I get an agent for my book, and the reply was:

45.4.5. > 2

Again, I'm standing too close - please come in if you have a particular insight on this.

Thanks,

Grace

p.s. - I'm going through a period of many changes, inner stuff as well as external (relationship - job - home life - new school for my son - finances; you name it) and feel like I could do with a nice solid anchor. Like for example a publishing deal.:)

Aside from the obvious: getting it together, gathering your resources, your work, your talent, your confidence, your determination - and, being open and receptive to advice, criticism, suggestions from your contacts, willingness to promote, publicly speak, all those things - you may find something on LiSe's page on her further breakdown of "Eminent - expansion. Harvest - determination." to inspire or push a button.

Best wishes toward your endeavor.
