Hello all :), I’m happy to be here again and hope to hear from you if you choose to do so.

I am trying to get back into a healthy routine these days. I am eating a lot of dark leafy greens, bone broth, anti inflammatory herbs, fish oil. Basically the whole nine yards. lol I am hopeful it will help me with my anxiety and mood swings, etc. There is this particular herb I want to go back to - maca. I took it before, felt great - lots of energy, libido through the roof, concentration, etc. However, when I was going through IUI my doctor asked me to stop taking it since she wasn’t sure how it is going to influence my chances to conceive. So I stopped then, but since I put all the baby issue on a back burner (still trying to figure out what I feel about this whole thing) I want to go back to taking maca. The burden of trying to get pregnant, fertility drugs, blah, blah, blah did a number on my body and mind in my opinion and I don't feel that swell lately, PMS is raging even though I never had severe symptoms before. I had a great experience taking maca, it is a wonderful Adaptogenic herb and I think it will do me good. I could have consulted a doctor or herbalist, but the former is not a functional medicine doctor and doesn’t believe into herbs and voodoo, and the latter is on maternity leaf.
So I asked the Oracle for the opinion How will me taking maca influence my body. 24.1.2>7
I see it as a positive answer, I think IChing is telling me that my body will Return to normal and everything in it will march like a disciplined battalion of army solders. Am I on a right track in thinking this way? Thank you all!
Love, Vikk

If 7 is the background then your new regimen of health foods and cutting out bad foods etc will lead to a return to your former health or return to your body’s normal state of health before you were affected. 24 can also mean renewal So a renewed health.
can i ask what brand of maca you took last time? I want to try!

Hey danceofthegods.
Thank you for your input. I do want to get healthy. That’s why I’m trying hard. Lol
Maca I used before was from Herb Pharm company as a tincture. Now I’m thinking of switching the brand and go with pills from Whole World Botanicals. I hope it works for me! Fingers crossed.

7 - Army as Context. This is about Building up your strength and becoming strong.

24.1 This line indicates going back to something good, after a short while, that you shouldn't have left in the first place. That stopping it was a minor mistake, but not a big deal.

24.2 This line says it's a good, auspicious, fortunate return.

Sounds like this is something good for you, and maybe you should have kept doing it.
Traditional Chinese medicine considers tonic herbs to be a fifth food group and necessary for health. They don't think of tonic herbs as medicine, they think of it as food and if you don't eat right you will get sick. And without a healthy body as a base, they do not believe you can be spiritually healthy either. It's quite different in that way from Western asceticism where you try to beat the body down to ascend the spirit, they say you need a healthy body to have healthy mind and spirit.

I don't know maca but my body does like the adaptogens ginseng and astralagus. Some doctors worry about using ginseng too when you're trying to get pregnant, but I am increasingly skeptical of that view. An Adaptogen is a balancing agent, after all.

Hey Querent777,

Thank you for your thoughts.
I agree when you said that an adaptogen is a balancing agent after all. That’s what I thought about maca. Some doctors say that it can alter your thyroid function since it contains iodine. I dint know if I trust “traditional” medicine that much any more. But like you said and I agree it is an adaptogen after all, it adapts to your body needs and corrects what needs to be corrected. So I’ll start taking it as soon as the package arrives.
Thank you again.

I find that a surprising reason. The reason you can buy salt with iodine added is it protects the thyroid, in particular from radiation. And there is an epidemic of thyroid problems in this country.
