I Ching and predictions for Elections.

London has just elected its new mayor. Few days prior to the election I did a reading to predict the result, but with a focus on the two main candidates only.

Tory candidate Zac Goldsmith Hex 33.4 >> 53
Will lose the election. Will recognise he couldn't win and withdraw, avoiding confrontation (line 4), and will set himself other projects (53).

Labour candidate Sadiq Khan Hex 47.5 >> 40
Will win the election, but will have some sort of affliction in the hands of authorities (the "ministers wearing purple", as the imagery in line 5). This ended up being a blip in the system used for counting votes, which delayed London authorities announcing the official results.

Conclusion: very accurate answer based on a very straight forward approach. Only one reading around the subject, and questions targeted at each candidate, specifically.

Hi Mirian, that is interesting, and accurate.
With 47 as the main hexagram, I might not have expected he'd win. Though 40 could redeem the situation. Thanks.

Hi lover of knowledge,

That's right, but a combination of things made the result very clear to me beforehand. Line 5 shows that the hardship represented by the hexagram resolves itself over a period of time (in this case a few hours). Also, as you said, the relating hex 40. On top of that, the fact that the reading about the other candidate was crystal clear (hex 33) and there could have been one winner. Very interesting exercise indeed.
