I Ching in a role of the Book of the Dead?

I didn't find anything similar to my question in earlier discussions, sorry if it was answered about a year ago.

Yes, it is interesting for me - maybe some variants of I Ching were used like a "guide" by the world of the dead? This is what Tibetan and Egyptian Books of the Dead are used for. Maybe Fu Hsi (Fu Xi) sequence, which is considered as "yin sequence" in feng-shui, could serve such purpose? (As an analogy, "yin house" is a grave, and "yin feng-shui" is part of feng-shui which determines a good site for burial.) Was such a suggestion was made before by some author or researcher?

Very interesting.

There are some who believe that 63 / 64 are actually after the end of life?s journey. Though King Wu's story of defeating Shang and establishing the Shang dynasty (sic) is certainly represented in that pair.

Come to think of it how did Wen do that in his ordering before he died

Have you looked into the Early Heaven ordering?

Can you say anymore about it?

If you're looking for a scholarly answer, I can't help you. But if you're open to a common sense opinion:

The Tibetan Book of the Dead has a great deal to teach about life and the living. I have to believe that the Book of Changes has a great deal to teach about the journey through what we call death, that is if there is a continuance of consciousness after this life ends.

Both books deal with phantom images, which exist primarily within our own mind.

Candid, thanks! About scholarly approach, I didn't find any... And your common sense opinion is close to mine. Yes, these all are "projections of our own mind".

Kevin, I just spoke about Early Heaven (or Pre-Heaven) sequence - its second name is Fu Xi sequence. Yes, particular hexagrams refer to death, but my thought was to find some interpretation of traditional sequence, or some special one for leading a dead spirit through the world of the dead... Well, I think I'll ask about it in some feng-shui communities also.
