Hi, I'm new here and to the Yi but I've been getting weird feelings when I do my readings. Frankly, I get stunned by them. They seem to be so accurate that they are a bit scary. Like, "Yipes!" I would appreciate any comments on this one though.

Q. What do you think the results would be of a trip to Belize in the period January through March?

A. Chun - hex #3 "Difficulty" or "Difficulty at beginning"
Lines 1,4,5 changed resulting in Yu - hex #16, "Repose"

At first I took this to be a "don't cross the ocean" answer. I was ready to cancel. The next day my application (at work, needing approval from several managers) got hung up at corporate level and for some reason this triggered my interest to take another look. I then found and began to appreciate the "at the beginning" part of the difficulty theme.

Suddenly I got that tingling lightning bolt of recognition that this hexagram was describing my application hangup at the corporate level in the infancy of the trip process. It's not the trip itself, but the trip process. Could this really be the "beginning" of the trip? It began to look like it. Reality check requested there.

There is also the "consolidation" theme to Chun (no new goals). At first I did not think a trip could be consolidation because it's a deviation from the normal work life. When I looked further into it I realized that this is actually my third such trip, and that the reason for all of the trips is the same. I began to sense that instead of being something "new" I was actually just trying to execute a Phase III of my overall plan. I would call that consolidation, but I need a reality check on that too.

Not to get too personal or esoteric, but this consolidation theme is very important to me because I had planned to deviate on this trip, and perhaps buy some property. Now that would clearly be a new project. I was once again stunned that I was being given counsel not to buy that property, and I have taken that part very seriously.

I think that by staying in these perceived bounds of consolidation (just trying to get to know the country) and by not being turned back by bureaucratic delays in the beginning, I should be good to go.

Yu #16 doesn't seem to be especially relevant, but my understanding is that the line readings and the first hexagram are primary anyway. Maybe I'm not appreciating the role of Repose in this case, but it does appear to be at least mildly supportive.

Thank you for your patience. Any comments or advice would be appreciated.

Q. What do you think the results would be of a trip to Belize in the period January through March?

A. hex #3 lines 1,4,5 - hex #16

Line 3.1 says that even though there may be some problems at the beginning do not alter your plans to do what you set out to do in Belize, but you may need the assistance of someone to get over your initial problems, get the ball rolling.

Line 3.4 says again to go ahead with your plans, again the need to accept help to carry out your ideas is mentioned. Looks like you need a native to sort out all the potential hassles that may and will crop up down there in Belize.

Line 3.5 says that you are going to come up against various hassles, probably with officials and such like, so you will have to not only be cautious, very careful but also calm and detached. It seems it will take some time to get the matter sort out but the line says to persevere with your plans, slowly. You cannot expect any good results if you try rushing and pushing these people, they don't work that way. Great patience is required as you will find out.

Hex 16 says that in order to get your piece of land or whatever, get help, accept help and maybe grease a few palms. So, don't be put off by the initial hassles, just go for it.

Thanks, Willow. It's good to get the reality-check.

Did you have any thoughts about the "consolidation" piece of this? I was factoring that as "don't start a new project" while down there. I may have read a bit too much into it.

In any case I will expect more problems that can be overcome with a little elbow-grease.

Thanks again.

It says to carry through with your plans to buy land or whatever but just be careful in every aspect, and don't rush or pressure these people as it will backfire on you, slowly baby, slowly.
