Hi all,
41 no moving lines. Just joined. I have been living in a small Buddhist monastery for about 30 years. I am 64 now and the eldest monk. I have been on a forum for about 2 years and have recently started doubting a particular persons answers to my posts. I threw the Ching here and it came up "decrease" on asking what I should be doing this morning. I am torn between it's advice, and still wonder if I am imagining this persons sincerity. I do not like being made fun of because I walk a different path than householders.
But, I am not sure about returning to the forum ( have been gone three days ). I am waiting for some sign to let me know what I am supposed to do. For now I am in a sort of limbo and waiting, which is not hard for me, but I can't wait much longer to avoid the forum because of doubting this persons sincerity. Any ideas on how to proceed?

Is the person in question a leader in the group? It sounds like you are describing a person who tries to 'put others down' in order to feel good about themself. Or maybe to establish a power/dominant position.
Or even by 'digging in' to you, they are trying to provoke a negative reaction from you. To put their pain inside you.
Many possibilities.

The first thing that stands out to me is in the image of 41: "... the jun zi rules out resentments...."
If I remember correctly, patience and compassion (for yourself and the other person) are supposed to be antidotes.
So, number one, don't 'react', choose your actions.

Do you think the 41 is refering to decreasing your interaction with the forum as a whole, or just with that one person?

You might also look about and see what is calling. Take your mind completely off that forum - Decrease your focus - and see what else is needing your attention.
