Alas, I suffer from ulcerative colitis. I wish I didn't but there we are. I have had it for 20 years and I manage it quite well, but I have had a six month flare up (longest ever) - though the symptoms have remained VERY mild (I have the mildest form).

It's because (I think) of all the changes and uncertainties in my life at this time as I transition from one career to another, and find my feet in a whole new phase.

I asked the Yi, what will be the future course of my stomach disorder? It replied

hexagram 37.3.4 to 25.

I honestly draw a bit of a blank on this.

One thing I must add - I really would respectfully ask not to be offered new remedies or cures. I know any such offers are kind and well-intentioned and I appreciate them. But I have tried everything, and I do understand the nature and source of my condition quite well. I have been having trouble regulating my lifestyle and my emotions these last few months because of a lot of upheavals and stress, so this does not surprise me. But I do worry about complications. I wonder what the Yi is indicating about the future.

I am so sorry to read you are going through this!
37. represents the home and family, does it also - like the astrological sign Cancer - represent the digestive organs? Perhaps the family running wild and disorderly in 37.2 is symbolic of your digestive system being in chaos. Fortunately 37.3 symbolizes things being put in good order.

As there is also a reference to this disorder being created when one takes on new challenges and then expands into a larger experience as one is able to organize and prioritize change, so in response to your question about what the Yi is indicating for the future I see this as a very positive reassurance that as the upheavals and changes you've been experiencing sort themselves out in your outer world your body will restore internal order.

25. Innocence is also a very positive omen. It suggests an experience of rebirth and starting fresh.
However 25.6 does caution against not learning from experience and making the same mistakes over and over, so you may benefit from being particularly aware of what sets you off and what brings you relief (Like if you're allergic to something but don't realize it and keep eating it.)

what a lovely kind message, rosada, thank you! It rings true, too - that this is to do with a tangle between inner and outer and it will gradually untangle. It's a part of my life I really dislike but I also have to listen to - like a nagging spouse actually, who bugs the hell out of me but is actually very attached and telling me what I need to hear!!
