Hi I Ching friends,

I don't post here often but enjoy reading the wisdom here very much. I thought I would share that, amid all the talk of apocalypse and all the dire news of the last week (at least here in the U.S.) I asked the I Ching last night for an image of the 12/21/2012 solstice.

The reading was 14.5>1. I saw this quite simply as: You have all that you need; meet others with dignity and sincerity, and be a creative force in the world. How lovely and inspiring.

As I read various commentaries on line 5, there's a lot about how to meet others -- in a way that is poised and graceful, to be able to be relaxed and accessible when appropriate and yet also reserved when appropriate. And I also got the message that it's essential to be generous with the great holdings of hexagram 14.

In a year when I often had feelings of scarcity and a lack of creative momentum, this reading was all I could hope for for the coming season. I thought I'd share it and wish everyone here a wonderful solstice and holiday. And I welcome your thoughts on this reading.

14.5 > 1 is a good casting for the winter solstice (14: sun in heaven) and the beginning of the return of yang qi (1).

That's very encouraging, thank you - I've just recently rented a painting studio and am reinvigorating a long-dormant (or let's say limping along sporadically) art commitment. I've wondered if I'm being foolish, and I'll take this as a positive sign. Thank you and happy Solstice!

Beautiful reading for winter solstice!

I had the same reading some months ago for "what's going to happen in our relationship?" We were temporarily separated and i was waiting for a contact with an answer.

Actually i don't know how to put this reading with what happened: he eventually contacted me after a move from myself, with a very strange e-mail and avoided me since. I know nothing of what happened to make him take the decision, but he sayd he still loves me...

Puzzles me. i thing the 1 means i was going to be alone but that would not be a bad thing.
