important job interview - 55.2.5.6

Hi dear clarity members! I could use some help with the reading for a cast concerning a matter very important to me these days. On Monday I will go to a job interview. For many reasons, this could be the dream job I've been waiting for some time: great work and environment, young professionals,a chance for growth etc. I already have a good response from them, I've sent them some texts I wrote...anyway, this Monday meeting will do the difference. In this context I had 2 questions for the oracle:
- how will this meeting go? Hexagram 55.2.4.5 to 1
- how should I behave in order to increase my chances? Hexagram 51 unchanging.

Both answers puzzle me. I see 55.4 as a good sign, but the other two lines seem to contradict its prediction. What do you think? Any thoughts on this one?

Its not clear what you cast. The thread title says 55.2.5.6 but you write here it was 55.2.4.5. 55.2.4.5 doesn't change to hexagram 1 it changes to hexagram 5.

If you did cast 55.2.5.6>1 then I'll risk looking eggy faced next monday and say I think you have a good chance here. I say this as the 2 hexes 55>1 abundance and creative...well it sounds powerful together and of course 55.5 looks very fortunate.

However theres a huge amount coming at you in 55, you may feel a bit out of control, out of your depth, taken aback and I think this is reflected in your 51 answer. I think the main thing to bear in mind is consider beforehand how you tend to react when you feel somewhat overwhelmed by the unexpected or when things just generally too much information/overload. I wonder if the danger here might be you close yourself off or act abruptly...or panic or shutdown ? Thats where I see the danger in 55.6...so I think you need to be prepared that there may be more to the meeting than you think...perhaps it is more involved/ complex...or something than anticipated, possibly more interviewers than you anticipate...things like that. 55 shows a profusion of factors coming at you,,,but I think hex 1 may show that actually the creative flow is with you...that maybe this is your job already.

I think the 51 may possibly be a shock about what is involved in the meeting OR shock that they just give you the job !


Thinking of other dangers of 55.6 ...uum well you need to be prepared to get involved, don't hold back, don't be aloof, use all the gifts you have, share them. 55.5 shows some recognition for you/ 55.2 shows the doubts and so on, uncertainty and finding it hard to know where you are going....BUT now is your moment...really. The main thing to bear in mind is don't get overwhelmed or say or feel you can't do the job....you need to give what you have to give however scary....and it may well be scary


I could be wrong of course and then I'll look silly but I feel these answers are pretty direct and this is possibly a pivotal moment for you .


If you look at the words of hex 51 it says even though the thunder rolls he carries his sacrificial bowl and doesn't drop it...he still does what he has to do/ So however apprehensive you are you won't drop the bowl if you stay focused on bringing to them what you have to offer....

I think you probably meant hexagram fifty five with lines, two, four, five and six changing. As such you would have a case here where generally speaking the situation can be very favorable. When you have multiple lines changing, it is important to see how the lines interact with each other, and not just the commentary on each line. Three of the four lines say “good fortune,” and hexagram one speaks of “sublime success.” But then you have to ask yourself how this success comes about, and what is it to be successful, because sometimes getting what we want leads to misfortune, not good fortune. I do not think that is the case here, though.

The second line I think refers to you. The fifth line is either to the boss or the one interviewing you. The situation is such that at first the boss or interviewer does not trust you. But you overcome the mistrust and the situation improves. The fourth line can refer to a couple of things. One, this may be someone, such as the interviewer, or someone involved in the process who at first is not for you. However, the person is either not in a position to succeed, or, more likely, changes his or her mind about you. As a result, you are eventually successful. The fourth line could also refer to you, who, upon meeting the ruler, (the interviewer or boss) finds that they are of like kind, and can work out a working relationship. The sixth line I think is only relevant in two ways. One the outcome is that you are in a state of abundance. Or two, that the job is very demanding. Of course, that may not matter. Line six is also relevant in that without it, the reading would change to hexagram forty three, not one, and that would indicate something very different. Hexagram one would indicate you are in a very powerful position, though at first there may be some opposition.

Oops, I made a mistake because hexagram fifty five with 2,4, 5, & 6 does not come up to one either. It would have to be two, five, and six. In such case leave the reading about the fourth line out, and it appears that it is just a matter of winning the boss or interviewer over with your qualifications.

Thanks everyone for your help, very interesting answers I got here and they do reflect what I expect from this interview. I feel prepared for this job, it is demanding but nothing beyond my qualifications. However, I feel a bit overwhelmed. I haven't been to an interview in a while and I'm currently unemployed, I left my previous job to start a business on my own but things didn't go very well. It's also not just an ordinary meeting, it's all about an opportunity I've been long expecting. Better than my old job, which was not bad at all. I dont't think this is not a position agreed internally, this job has been advertised, I'm not the only candidate.

- what is the interviewer's opinion of me after the meeting? Hex 52.1 to 22.
- how will i do at the next interview? Hex 1.2.5 to 30 - this one looks really good, i hope everything goes well.

Excellent. I think 52.1 maybe leapfrogging the question and advising you. I notice how often 52 comes up when asking ofothers opinions of us. 52 directly says to give it no thought, not to dwell on it, to act as if they were not there. It says something like "he walks in his courtyard but does not see the people" so one is in ones own world, need not for now look beyond it. I think its saying relax, compose yourself and don't think about what they think.

ETA if it does answer the question directly I think the interviewer may be simply reserving judgment.....not reacting yet. Hence the 2nd interview

The next interview and hex 1 has come up again so this is a very powerful time for you. You are carried by the current of the creative (hex 1) and the lines, well the entire reading looks like there is a huge amount of potential coming to the fore now to be realised. Fate can be very evident, or what appears to us as fate with 1.5

1 to 30 sounds really good specially for your question - visually, it just made me think of someone putting on their glasses . . perhaps you'll make things about you even clearer?
52 to 22 could say that the interviewer passes no judgement, just gets a general impression . .


ETA: ah just saw Trojan said sth similar abt 52 to 22 . . I find 52 is often about the right impetus for movement rather than simply not moving at all

I know this thread is months old but I wanted to post an update to tell how things went in the end. I didn' get that job. Things happened exactly the way Long Yi predicted - Long Yi, I don't know how you do it. Meaning that,although the two interviews were ok and gave me hope, it turned out that the position was not really available. They changed their mind. I ended up working on my own, as a freelancer. Which is not bad, after all. Thank you all for your help with the reading.
