Dear Members of Clarity

A Short introduction and what brought me here:

My name is Scott, I'm 24 years old and from the Netherlands.
I started using the I Ching recently after my meditations. The last couple of times the Sage kept telling me: "It furthers one to see the great man" and "It furthers one to have somewhere to go". I kept using the rtcm method to find out what it meant. First I thought it had to do something with my work or study, because I have thought about making a change. But the Oracle kept telling me that it had not much to do with that.
Last night I got the same message: "It furthers one to see the great man" and "It furthers one to have somewhere to go". So I asked the Sage through the rtcm if I should find someone to help me with the I Ching. The Sage responded with a Yes (3 heads). After that I wanted to make sure it was the right thing to do, I asked two more times. both times the Sage responded with a basic yes (2 heads). So last night I decided that I would look for a forum today.
This morning after my meditation I used the I ching again, and the Sage responded with hexagram 14 that changed to hexagram 21. the changing line 2 says: One may undertake something. I asked the Sage if that meant that I had to look for someone who understands the I ching better than I do. and he responded with yes (3 heads).
after that I started looking for a forum on the internet, and now I'm here =)
I look forward to learn more about the I Ching =)

Hello Scott:
Welcome! I am a Chinese I Ching scholar, nice to meet you here and I would like to remind you for some basic knowledge about I Ching:
1. I Ching is a philosophy book rather than a religious book. So the word "Oracle" and "Sage" are not proper for I Ching. In fact, I Ching's answer comes from your subconscious mind.
2. Before making a prediction with I Ching, you do not need a meditation, what you need to do is relax yourself and set up a clear question in your mind. Then you will get an answer from I Ching. For example, if you want to get an clear question from your teacher, you must ask a clear question. Otherwise, the answer will not make sense.
3. You should not ask too many questions at the same time, and you also should not predict too many times for one question. As as Hex 4 says "If you predict only once, you will find the answer; if you predict many times, you will not find the answer."

Welcome to the forum.

You'll find many helpful, knowledgeable, and insightful people here.
You'll also find a few who are argumentative, opinionated, or some variety of kooky.
But, it's a good crowd mostly.

Hi Xuesongyu,
Thank you for your answers. it's nice to meet you too.
It's good to know how it works. the book kept talking about "Sage" and "Oracle", so I thought I would just use those words so I would not offend someone.
I'll try to make my questions more clear and ask less. The I Ching already gave me some very good answers on questions about past expreiance. but I noticed I find it much more difficult to get clear answers about the future.
