Investment Op/Job change 43.2.4 > 63

Hi lovely jingers!

I have a opportunity to buy a 50% stake in a startup in my industry and it would mean I can change jobs and potentially earn more then I currently do, but the returns are those of a startup at present, with much being re-invested in order to build up the business.

I asked in the sort traditional way, if the king should cross this river... what path lies ahead if I buy into this, given that I would personally be taking a big financial risk, yet if I stay in my current circumstances I think I might fall in upon myself like a dying star ( )

I'm mostly interested on some ideas about line 4 and not trusting words.

The line kind of describes where I am at right now, where I have been fighting my current circumstances, wanting to give up on everything, for the last two months, and today I met with this person for reasons related to my job and was pleasantly surprised by being offered this opportunity. However line 4 could either be the hard slog I've already been going through, or that this new op will be a hard slog? wadda ya reckon?

For me what I really want out of this is to want to go to work, instead of feeling trapped.

I think you got right that l4 is about opportunities; that's how i have experienced it . its like one is "closed" because of the not-so-great situation one experience and somehow is conceived it won't came any resolution. This line put a seed in the mind that maybe we are more pessimistic than we should. Circumstances are not bright but still there is something we can do, even if at the moment it seems like we are lost .

I can't tell for sure if its a "go for it" or drop it" ; doesn't seem to be such an answer but I can read its as explore the whole offer.

A dying star ? I thought you were in your prime !

The 63 makes me think really you have already decided. Maybe you are afraid of a bit of reaction or as you say the sheer risk but 43.2 is reassuring here there is no need for fear.

I have found 43.4 comes up a lot for a very stubborn determined friend I have. She has her mind fixed on something she must do...but inevitably cannot do it anyway.

I think 43.4 is often advice to go gracefully towards that which you really must do anyway.


I'll use this friend as an example. She wanted to do lots of hard DIY work on her house herself and wasn't ready to trust a certain builder who was advising her. She continued on doggedly herself but suffered severe burn out and actually had to get help and listen to him in the end anyway. On discussing it we agreed this line was basically asking you to look for where you are not willing to hear or understand what is necessary.....and you will have to go that way anyway so you may as well do it voluntarily now since if you don't you will be doing it involuntarily later.

How could that apply to your situation ? Maybe your current position is going to fold anyway so you may as well go now ?

Also with 43.4 it's worth having a scan around you to check if people are trying to give you advice you aren't hearing. reconsider it.

Of course what is puzzling is with 43.4 one often doesn't want to do what is required...but here you do actually want to. Hmm overall especially with 43 I think you are being forced to make a clear choice now....I don't think you can pass this up can you ?


The change patterns here are yang hex 40 and yin 37. You come to this through a clear need to break the tension and either move forward and retreat...one or the other you can't hang around too long a decision needs to be made now. 37 as yin pattern, the way through the situation ? Hmmm not sure.


Overall I think the answer leans to you taking the opportunity possibly with family consultation ? I think you said you maybe work for your family..or something..maybe they need some involvement in the decision ?

Yes anemos, one door has closed, and you articulated how i seen my situation well, circumstances have not seemed bright.

Trojina, you are so good at this! Thank you for taking the time. 40 release from the 37 family. Both parts of what you said, i do need to consult my family too... And the committee as well, i work with two families in a way.

A couple of hours ago my sister gave me the advice that houses are liabilities and not assets, keep them if you can afford them, and this house has become too much, if i sell my house i can buy-in and change jobs, it is simply the thought that its too much for me to do that is making me cool my heels, and perhaps they are the words not to trust, also my head is reeling with fear, doubt and many words that are not worth trusting.

I am exactly like your friend, i have been stubbornly renovating this house, but I have been grieving it the last month, realising that this goal needs to die, for many reason but one too is there is a connection to family that is holding back the new. And so, yes in that respect it has already been decided, on the feeling level.

I have just learnt that the prime years start at 60, So i cant claim prime time, however i'm nearing the end of the metaphorical menstrual period of my soul with my new progressed moon happening in spetember, the start of a new 30 year cycle, by the end of which i will be 63, and in my prime baby, whoop! giggle

Interesting. Should play a bit with change patterns. What you say fit well with taking the lines individually

43.2>49 49 as in your own day you will be believed. Many times , I have see 49 talk about my words been believed by me.
and 43.4 > 5 as said above.

An update in the name of the archives

I'm having to still continue with my current job, but some more interesting tasks have been given to me, so I feel more positive about work.

I haven't taken any moves to gather the finances, or to evaluate what to do with the house, and so nothing further has happen with the opportunity. My plan is to contact my banker and realestate agent this week and get some advice and i'll see what happens from there.

Final update:

I said no to the offer, as it was worth what an established business is worth, due to the takings, but still required the amount of building that a start up would, so whilst I would get profit all that would have to be fed back into the business and I'm not in the position to delay reaping the benefits when the purchase price was so high.

But it did motivate me to have my house looked at and to decide more concretely to sell. And the business relationship is not lost either, as am working with them on another project.
