So I asked the IChing

Is it favourable to cancel my CT scan in favour of having an MRI?

received hexagram 52, no moving lines

A little background
I am unwell and my symptoms need investigating. However, I was hospitalised some months back with Covid-19 and as a result had many CT scans. I spoke to my consultant today and he agrees that I have been exposed to a lot of radiation. He says ideally, an MRI would be favourable. The problem is, I can be offered a CT scan tomorrow but an MRI scan would mean a bit of a wait... it’s left up to me to decide which way to go.

I think I’m being told to wait for the MRI but as this is a serious matter that could have serious consequences I would really appreciate some feedback.
Thank you

I'm afraid you could see it either way. 52 tells you you don't need to do anything, don't need to intervene or change anything, leave things be and most certainly not to have thoughts of the future. It's not time to be weighing things up it's a time to act and feel as if there's nothing to do, be still.

So I'd see it as advice not to change existing arrangements and that would mean going ahead as scheduled with the CT scan

OTOH I can also see it your way as possibly 'don't do anything and wait' but to be honest the less you do here the better and so I am far more inclined to see this as to let things unfold as they would if you just let things be as they are. Here that amounts to having the CT scan rather than wait but as I say it could go either way. If you reschedule for an MRI you are changing plans and Yi is telling you to chillax big time.

Yi is generally telling you to be still and not be projecting into the future. You don't need to do that right now

I agree with Trojina,

At first glance I wanted to say "don't change anything, go for it [the CT scan]"; then I read you prefer to wait, and it's another way to see 52uc.

If you sense the need to stop exposing your body to the radiation, stop it.

Thank you so much for the replies. I felt another reading might help but I am now even more confused. I asked “Should I have the CT scan tomorrow?” I received 22 6 changing to 36... I’m concerned about the injury part! Any further help would be greatly appreciated.

You need to think about 22.6 there is no injury there, its a simple course of action.

Possibly more readings just increase anxiety. 52uc couldn't be clearer to stop worrying.
