job application 14>51

I applied for a job today that I have heaps of experience for but after I sent it I realised I don't have the qualifications they require, just the experience. What do I need to know about the employers thinking I'm unsuitable for the job? Hexagram 14.2.3.6>51.....for some reason a couple of weeks ago I felt inclined to start packing my house up for a move although I have nowhere else to move to exactly. It felt weird but I just went with it and the more I did the better I felt about everything. I've applied for a few jobs and few new places to live but to no avail and had sort of given up today and then I saw the job and it had only been posted 2 hours previously. I'm reading Hex 51 as the 'pulling apart' of my household and possessions and packing it all up. Hexagram 14 Line 2 seems to say well I'm ready for the chariot to move me just need the specific direction to go. Line 3 - I've made the summer offering to the principal of a religious school and regardless of what happens I'll have good fortune.....does that mean they may just be happy to offer the job to me. thanks

Hello Becalm!

What do I need to know about the employers thinking I'm unsuitable for the job? Hexagram 14.2.3.6>51
Your experience is a great treasure (14).
14.2: "A big wagon for loading. One may undertake something. No blame." You have many things to offer; so it's no mistake to apply for the job.
14.3: "A prince may win rewards from his emperor, but this is beyond an ordinary man's power." As an experienced worker you have capabilities others don't. The employer notices it.
14.6: " One is blessed by heaven. Good fortune. Benefit in everything." You are doing good. Don't worry.
Then what's the Shock (51)? Maybe they employ you while you least expect it?
Anyway, sounds like the employers have a good opinion of your CV.

Good Luck!

The question was not whether you would be offered the job but rather what you needed to know about employers thinking you were unsuitable. With that being the question it seems to me the ic is saying that even though the employers might be 51. Surprised that you applied even though you lack the formal qualifications, they recognize your past experience has much to offer. Perhaps 51 could mean they do something shocking and bend the rules for you but I would hesitate to infer this because whether you would be offered the job wasn’t your question. If this reading says anything about the employers thinking you are unsuitable I would interpret it as meaning they do understand your experience is impressive - but hiring you would mean they’d have to 51. Upset the rules - but it doesn’t say if they would or would not be willing to do that.

Thanks rosada I'd be surprised if they 'Upset the rules' as it's a very superior educational organisation and as you say it doesn't say either way what they would or not be willing to do.....Of course Hex 51 could mean so many different things in this scenario. I guess I'll know by the end of this week as applications close on the 7th.

Be sure to let us know!!! Washing down the outside of your front door is a feng shui ritual for getting clients or employers to see you clearly. Couldn't hurt...

Well I guess Hex 51 could be the fact that I got an email just now that took me by surprise - it said they're interested in speaking to me within the next few days.

Hurray!
Congratulations! After reading your answer to Rosada saying that the job is in a superior educational organization I doubted if the Shock (51) could be as positive as I interpreted it. Now it came true :)

Although I was promised a call on Friday just gone to set up an interview, I wasn't contacted.....disappointing. What do I need to know about the continued interest in employing me Hexagram 10.2.4>42.....I feel like this is actually a message to me to stick to my career goal Line 1. Line 2 The job could be potentially dangerous re my PTSD but at the same time it's a fear I need to overcome, well that I want to overcome really. I've held back for far too long.

Of course they can - they said they'd definitely ring me last Friday to line up an interview. The job starts next Monday - it's a remote place. You would need to know asap to organise yourself for the conditions and to get there.

Unfortunately I didn't get a look in although as mentioned on here they were impressed with my resume but no qualification means no chance.....:(

Not sure what you mean here, becalm. Are you saying they changed their minds about interviewing you?

(I read through this thread this morning but didn't have a worthwhile comment.)

Oh I'm sorry to hear that. :(

added- now that it's over (when of course it's easy to say :bag:) maybe the 51 means you should not "lose the sacred ladle and libation" - do you have Hilary's book, if not here's what she says:

"It is a time to hold on to what you most value, and take on responsibility for keeping it safe through the upheaval, like the priest who is charged with safeguarding the temple and altars from the past, for the future. Consider what remains constant and true when everything else is in turmoil.

This doesn’t necessarily mean resisting the shock itself, so much as keeping a still point in the midst of the tumult of reactions to it. Then you never lose your connection with the creative power that speaks through the storms."

It's fine marybluesky - I'd rather not get the job based on that rather than anything else that's lacking. I think in the end the Shock was that she'd shown interest to the point it looked like she wanted to employ me back to that she sent me another email saying she hadn't actually realised I didn't have the right qualifications. In the bigger picture she should have read my application thoroughly the first time.
