I made a casting for my friend who had dilemma between two jobs;

1. what can he expect if he choose first job; 52.1>22
2. what can he expect if he choose second job; 15.3.4>31

My advice was second job. Everything was beautiful on that job for three weeks. Then he was fired.

My question is, if some of the advanced adepts can advice me; what have I done wrong? :confused:

Hmm ... I am certainly not an advanced adept. More like a toddling child in the i ching. But, a couple of things occur to me ...

15.3,4 > 16, not 31. Perhaps it was 15.4,5 >31? This casts a slightly different picture.

Not sure what the reading was ....

Well ... your friend got the job, then after three weeks was fired. And the initial question was "what can he expect of job B"? Yi's response was 15. 4, 5> 31.

Modest/humble action (15) in the context of influence (31). The lines are both about what needs to be done to bring about the harvest. The lines discuss social skills or social ability (15.4), and lowly or hard work to bring about the harvest (15.5). It seems s/he had to prove himself socially to the boss and colleagues, and to prove himself to the job or corporation. He needed to do what needed to get done even if it was beneath him (15.5) and be quite socially able (15.4) to bring about the harvest, and in the time of influence, attraction, or oversight (31).

So, I would presume what he could expect is hard and determined work with humility, both socially and related to the job, in a context where he still had to influence in order to win his/her boss over.

Just my humble guess ... and with hindsight being 20/20.

Now, this is interesting....I talk with him yesterday and he got third job, he got it one hour after he was fired from job B, we discussed the casting and he told me that now in this job he is learning to work with people without prejudice...this is what hexagram 31 predicted.
This shocked me...Yi somehow suggest him me to tell him to accept second job so that he can find himself on third which was offered him one hour after he was fired... :)
