Hi All,

It has been some time since I last posted. I have been living in Hong Kong since 2012 and am presently looking at making a career move to San Francisco. I have just completed a third round interview with a firm. Waiting on feedback and if well I will move into final stages which will be a presentation to the management.

I asked about this company and what my future might be in this opportunity. I received 40.3.4 - Deliverance to Pushing Upward. It seems fairly positive, but wanted to gauge your thoughts on this. Is it a worthwhile endeavor, do you think there will be success in the final round interviews? Any input is greatly appreciated, thanks!

Looking at the lines:
40.3 → 32 (Persevering), Richmond:
Riding in a carriage and carrying property he invites robbers. Continuance brings misfortune.

40.4 → 7 (Organised Force), Richmond:
Free yourself from your toes,
then the friend will come with trust.

And with transitional 32.4 → 46 (Ascending), Richmond: No game in the field.

I suppose Yi says there is no real future with this company. You are kinda stuck with an old pattern of thinking (40.3), some old/obsolete goal which keeps you from pursuing the one you really need (40.4).

Maybe you need to free yourself of this pattern(40), and evolve(46) to some higher/better goal?

Thanks for your feedback Tim - I saw the following line interpretations on Divination Foundation. My take on the lines was perhaps that I had to let go of some things here in order to make the successful transition there. I thought it may be referring to my current personal relationship that may be on the rocks. I was interpreting Deliverance, as a sort of Aha! moment where a new opportunity emerged, some relationships needed to be closed off in order to reach a time of pushing upward within a new opportunity. Does this sort of an interpretation make sense given the line configuration?

Line 3
In overcoming hard times, a residue of the past often lingers. When making the transition from struggle to success, take care not to bring baggage from the past with you on the journey. At the same time, avoid taking on airs and flaunting newfound good fortune. Those who wear their money on their sleeve soon have little in their pocket!
Line 4
In periods of stagnation, relationships can be formed on the basis of convenience. Since there is little challenge during such a time, not much is demanded of friends and associates. But when important action is required, only the able and trustworthy can be counted on to perform competently. Free yourself of the entanglements of random relationships of low value; good fortune comes from associating with men and women of talent and integrity. In times of great opportunity or crisis, it is better to have a weak person as an enemy than as an ally.

Maybe, maybe. If you feel like it, resonate with that idea - of course.
