Hi, I did the online free I-Ching reading. I asked

Dear I Ching will putting in resumes to medical sales companies get me the job?

The response was 58.2 changing to hexagram 17.

Any suggestions to interpretations? With thanks

Then I asked :Dear I-Ching am I looking in the right place, that is, medical sales companies to change my career for passion and money?

I got 28.3.4.5.6 changing to 4

Any comments cos Im scratching my head and very confused whether I should leave my current job which is in the scientific lab field. I dont have sales experience but I know I love to speak well, manage and plan. Im just worried that Im looking in the wrong field and wasting my time.

I see this as its ok to follow your dreams but for the right reasons when following a dream it should have real substance.

Then I asked ear I-Ching am I looking in the right place, that is, medical sales companies to change my career for passion and money?

I got 28.3.4.5.6 changing to 4

This says to me that your are really wanting a change of lifestyle and you may have had enough of where you are this minute or bored or whatever but every great general had a real plan , as 4 is the background which represents youth among other things, you may possibly might on this occasion aim to high or being un realistic at the present time. You need to weigh up the realities

(just some personal advice , i have been in sales and marketing for over 15 years, the rewards can be high but you can tend to fly like an eagle drop like a stone type of thing.)
I am not advising you not to take up a new career in sales, but i have often envyed the security some people have in other professions as sales you are constantly being asked to perform at what ever standard they throw at you).

From the way the reading looks to me anyway ,again look at your options and ,maybe plan and dont be hasty and make look into it it more.It may be the right option but not at this present moment.

I hope I made sense

Heartfelt thanks Steve.

After reading what you wrote I am prompted to think that it'll be a right move if it's aligned with my true sense of purpose. I know this not to be my sense of purpose. This is something I wish to do while I work towards my sense of purpose - medicine.

You are right, I just want to get out of my present situation. I put together my experience and studies and skills that I know I have but just cant use as in the lab and had a look at jobs available and went aha! maybe sales is the challenge I have been looking for and the answer to the finiancial side of things as well. I feel there's not much else I can do with my science background.

So I think what I'll do is put in my resume anyway and they can decide to call me or not. And even if they do, which can be in 7 weeks or 7 months Im going to weigh it out and see if it's something I genuinely believe I can do.

Does that sound ok?

Yea sure that way you can assess it again, things may be different again.
Medicine is also a long road so i guess its no wonder you have itchy feet

I actually asked myself today how i can better my financial situation, even thou its not that bad when i get to the next level i can get closer to my dreams

All the best

further Q on job

I went on to ask 'how' will I get that job that pays xyz a year and got 5.2 to 63.

I get a feeling I have to wait. So I asked 'when' will I get that $xyz/ annum job and got 13.1.6 to 31

What is Yi trying to say to me?

thank u

Maybe the best way to ask is "what is the best way i can achieve a better income at the moment"

Cheers

Dear Steve,

thanks for yor suggestion.

It must all seem to be about dollars and sense. I typed out my Q's in honesty to Yi Ching. My current situation needs money for my younger sister's tuition fees and to bring my parents over to the country I am in now. It really wears me down and sometimes I feel so alone and displaced. It's been on my mind for 6 months now, I have not asked these Q's in a whim. Also I do so much more at work than I get paid for.

Instead of wishing things were better, I decided to use what skills and talents I have to go and get the job I think I should be in. I lack a sense of purpose in my job. I feel I can reach out and give much more of myself at work, which is what Im going to have done with my life when I look back at 80.

I didnt give my background in the Q's, yet you were objective and not judgemental of me or my Q's. I have my reasons for asking them and I know Yi understands.

I like to thank you for not judging me after reading a few lines from me.

It is up to each man to say this I am today, and that I'll be tomorrow.

I feel guided that Im on the right track, and though finance issues may seem pressing,I will get there :)
Thanks Steve
