Job question

Hi all,
I asked the i-ching what were my chances of getting the job I applied to and got 18.1>26. I know that 18 means work on what has been spoiled, and there's something in my relationship with the person who runs that place that I can't put my finger on...is that what the hexagram is trying to tell me?

I suggest you give a better reading. It also suggests other things which I'm afraid do not have a positive outcome. It seems there is something that has to be settled before.
Why don't you ask the Yi about the person who runs the company? Maybe the solution is there.

I asked 'How does he see me?' a while ago and got 41.2.3.6>51, which I thought pointed more to how I see him. (I've read that you shouldn't ask about other people's intentions.)
Can you clarify the other things that are not so positive?

Work on what has been spoilt by the departed father.line 1 of hex 18.
who worked in that position before it became vacant asuming they left.Will
the work in that job need to be put right.Just a thought.

Ref. 18.1 > 26 - I'm not an expert, but have studied thoroughly and in the past months. But recall that my hand may not be trained enough.
Anyway, in my point of view it suggests you will only succeed after some past situation lying unresolved is settled, but this would have to be treated very carefully. Is it what you really want and what would be the best for you?
Then it's up to you to decide.

I think 18.1 is about taking responsibility for previous weaknesses. I don't see the answer says you will or won't get the job, (the future isn't fixed anyway) but that trying to make ammends in some way is good. How you see 'making ammends' is really down to you to figure how that fits the situation.

Ref. 41.2.3.6>51 - it suggests a change of positions (the weaker is now stronger or vice versa) and that there is something related to control instincts (or uncontrolled instincts), although it is later settled. Don't you see some relation with 18 > 26?
Someone may be trying to look wealthier than really is.
No need to feel less spiritually protected due to the weaker position. Sincerity and humbleness = key for the one in the weaker position. Help will come from above.
Could it be that he is somewhat afraid of you?
You have to determine the roles.

The character kao in line 1 of Hex 18 which is usually translated as predecessor also means examine or test. In your situation this might resonate more clearly if you have been or expect to be tested.

Thanks everyone for the insight. I wouldn't mind being tested before getting the job, cause then I know that I have a chance. As for making amends, I don't know in which way I can do that, cause I don't think I've done something wrong. I had an interview with him two years ago, and he seems helpful and all, so I may have misunderstood him. I thought 41.2.4.6> was telling me that he doesn't like me, he feels pressured by me, and that i shouldn't be putting myself down, or sell myself cheap.
