Hi everyone,

I would really appreciate advice on the right course of action here. I have a part-time job which I appreciate for the extra money but don't really need at the moment...
As it is coming up to christmas, and it's retail, they're going to expect/need over-time, but I have been also getting freelance work, and there's other things I want to do etc... it would perhaps be more sensible to stay, but I also don't get on that great with the team there either, and the work is depressing... and I can't help but think I should do us all a favour and free myself up so I can put more into things I'm actually interested in... but then, in the future I might kick myself because of the money...

I asked a few days ago should I quit?
26.1,2,4,5 > 33

Hold on because of what I can accumulate (ie a bit more money...) and retreat from the idea? Or wait until the time is right to retreat?

I asked again today
24.1 > 2

Return from the idea or leave my unsuitable post?
33.2 > 44

What is the gist here??
Do nothing until absolutely necessary?
Staying would also mean I can't do a writing class as they won't adjust my shifts (fair enough).

Thanks. I'm really unsure which voice to listen to here.

Just leave. You already know quite well what you want to do, ie leave, you just don't trust yourself.

I think you probably have enough to leave, like a squirrel with a nut hoard.(26>33 the squirrel can retreat to his (er whereever squirrels retreat to) because he has enough nuts.... or burgers...the squirrels round here sit on bins eating burgers and chips.

I can't pretend to have gone into any great depth with these readins but the prevalence of 33's speaks volumes and i don't think the 33 is retreat from the idea of leaving. Retreat in 33 is away from what compromises you to save your skin. I think 33 is always away from the negative not withdrawal from the positive feeling.

Disclaimer..i cannot be held responsible for any future poverty situation of Em Ching. I would just like her to be happy. The reading could be bias since i never think its good to stay in a crap job you don't like...especially when theres lots of other projects calling you and you have enough money for now

Em,

All of these questions are yes/no, or either/or questions. Yes/no questions are hard to understand, for me; Either/Or questions muddy the water further. I make this mistake frequently, as both choices are stated in the question "Should I go to the zoo, or to the mall?" If the answer is "retreat", or "take vigorous action", or "make progress", then how will you know which alternative the advice refers to?

(Note to Tiger: read this post next time you formulate a hurried question, so you do not make this mistake again!).

For what it is worth Em, I asked Yi the following question on your behalf.
"What will happen if Em Ching leaves the job, as she desires?"

Yi gave a much more comprehensible answer, but you should try it for yourself. Yi said you should leave. (Not everybody agrees it is kosher to do that, cast for someone else, so I am not listing the answer here, so I don't draw the ire of the ethics police)

Exactomondo. That's great and I think kind of true what you say about being a squirrell (for the moment anyway! although minus the burgers :)

Had another yuk day there today, but came home to find I'm being sent more of the interesting work! So I feel like I have a good reason, other than hating the job, to leave! I am writing my notice as we speak and looking forward to the retreat :)

Thanks as always :bows:

Thank you :D
I do think there is free reign with Q's, but for your own sake there are perhaps ones that should be avoided, and as you say, probably not 'either/or Q's'. But I think if you feel a question: ask it. (in regards to what you say about wondering if asking on behalf of another is kosher)
