I asked, what can i expect if i see him tomorrow?
I have a choice, either to take up the afternoon shift or stay home to see him, since it is valentine's day. So I was wondering if I should immerse myself in work or see him.
I chose the latter, and asked the i ching the question.

It's weird that joy goes to conflict. What does it mean, specifically?

Thank you for interpreting :)

I asked, what is our relationship based upon?
I got 2,2,6 ->4
What does it refer to?
2.6 sounds bad, like a squabble

i think your reading more or less simply describes the situation - you are in conflict with yourself about how to enjoy yourself the most - thats all really, nothing deeper than that, your're pleasure chasing (58.6) thats all so what would you expect from that ?

I'm not really pleasure chasing.. this relationship is a long distance one. I wonder what it means though.

One meaning of 58 is 'pleasure', and that's where trojan got that idea from.

I like her reading a lot, but there's one more possibility that's predictive of the future rather than descriptive of the present: at first you're happy to see him, but as the day unfolds something gets expressed between you that leads to a state of contention.

And if that happens and if he's a logical sort of person and you're a more emotionally-based person, then the best way through is if one of you gets in touch with their intuition and the other one responds to it. Then hug.

Yes, I was happy to see him, and then something happened, which left me bitter.
He did sign off early (we meet by the computer), and I did come on past noon, as I was at work, but he not only didnt express anything (should it be expected?), but he signed off earlier than usual (normal days).
I asked the iching why did he sign off. it said 3.1 > 8
what does this mean

By pleasure seeking i meant you were trying to choose between two options in order to pick which would bring you most satisfaction - 58.6 made me think this was at the core of your question - as being 'seduced' by joyousness' can mean running after pleasure, being sucked in towards things that aren't necessarily productive of true happiness

It suggests that there was a problem with the way that you were communicating with him, I think he felt that you were not in a friendly mood.

Hex (58.1.6>6) This was telling you to be content with the way things are, don't try to grab the sky when you are still on the ground but line 6 says that you are not satisfied to let things be, you want more and more from him and he can't give it, so you ended up disappointed by the way your talk turned out.

I asked, what is our relationship based upon?
I got 2,2,6 ->4

Gives the impression of a powerplay, like you are trying to out do him. Hex 4 says that you have a lot to learn about this man.
