Hello,

Just a few weeks ago I learned that I had been cheated on, and I think the I ching was trying to warn me of something unpleasnat.
I had received hexagram 56 line 6, and hexagram 30 line 4.
With more practise and study can a novice become better at working out where the trouble may lie?
Or can you only prepare yourself for hard times ahead?
Any tips?

Thanks M

Dear maisie,

I think that with practice you can get a lot more from readings, absolutely. You can get warnings, so you can actually change/adjust your actions/attitude. You can get a broader view, different angles/perspectives, of a given situation, so you can make better decisions. You can get advice to avoid something harmful to you. However, it is also true that you can be told that something is beyond your control, there is nothing that can be done about.

But, the thing is it all depends on your questions. I don't know what you asked when you got 56.6 and 30.4 so I don't know how, if all possible, you could have linked those readings to the fact that your husband was cheating on you. We would have to have a look at the questions.

I know how you feel, I had some very bad news in the past that I tried to figure it out whether I could have possibly "foreseen" through my readings then. But if it is completely out of the blue how can you link the event to some reading unless you had actually posed a question around the topic?

Tips? If you consult the Yi regularly about different aspects of your life, like work, relationships, etc, you will have more chances to pick up warnings or a message spot on. Some of them can be quite clear. But, on the other hand, you don't want to be in this constant state of alert, do you? I mean, always trying to read between the lines, trying to spot some warning hidden somewhere in your reading.

Besides, in life, there are things that are just not meant to be seen beforehand. ;)

Take care :bows:

One can get better at figuring out where the trouble lies. Working with the I Ching can make you more present in your own life. I second what Mirian said about not living in a constant state of alertness, though, regarding things tending to go wrong. That is no way to live.

Well, being cheated on is a very bad feeling but, in the long run, it can prove a blessing...
If you get rid of a cheater, it is great, no?
If you can take the energy from there to change important things in your life... If you can look back in 2 years time and say to yourself, "uau!"....

It is so hard to know if something is good or bad beforehand...

I find it difficult to do it all the time, but I try to apply this.

I am currently very sad at the way a man handled our relationship, but I have the feeling it might be "good ridance"...

Does it make sense?
