The text on the lines of hexagrams one and two comprises a special paragraph considering the case where a mutation would concern the whole of the six levels. The derived hexagram would therefore bi its opposite hexagram. This specific hexagram is called :

All Yins at work

The combined mutation of all six Yin lines of the hexagram is qualified by a rare formula which insists on a durable tenacity. As with the risk of a great assembly of Yang power is an excess of authority, that of a great Yin is a sign of scattering. Quoted at the entry level of Gen (52), this formula proposes to focus on the concentration of forces which allows to establish solid bases. Appearing as a formulation close to that found at Small Excess (Xiao Guo-62), it advises to spare forces by a prudent and tenacious attitude. It signals here the necessity to maintain the cohesion of one’s efforts by integrating the firmness proper to Yang and to make of time one’s ally.

利 Durably : Very ancient and still much in use the ideogram, which resembles the character Water (whose flow is perpetual) means Long, Durable, Eternal. However, it represents less a state or a quality than it does the result of an action.

永 Hold On : The text shows the character understood as Tenacity in the context of the Judgements and by Omen in the context on the lines. In this particular case, which belongs to neither of these two categories, it could have been understood as Omen and the phrase could then be read as : The Omen is Durably Profitable. To Hold On was selected because of the use of the same formula in another situation much concerned with Yin, at Gen’s (52) first level, and a close looking formula at Xiao Guo (62) fourth level.
