Got this reading , 1: 1,2,3,5> 35 asking whats wrong with my laptop. While the internet connection was working perfectly and other residence in the place I live had access , from my laptop I didn't have. A strange and a bit worrying sign but since everything else was ok thought to enjoy some internet free days and work on other things. Yesterday decided to restart it just in case the problem would fixed. ( I rarely shout down my laptop, just close the lid ) I tried several time but won't start. Only a led was working.

1>35 made me think of supply of power ( occasionally I have that problem; something is loose there and lose connection)

another way to read it - but I don't see the usefulness of the advise , besides the " see the great man" was that I shouldn't shut it down and back up my precious files and working papers :)duh: ) before doing anything. Probably something was wrong ( 1.1) and came out (1.2) - I should have took it to an expert at that time ( ?) and 1.3 might be I underestimate the problem , so again " the great man"

Anyway, took it to a service shop- probably a motherboard problem - and awaiting for the estimate. The technician also said that it might be a power supply issue but not really sure.

If its the motherboard , that might be h35 here ? can't see it clearly . Maybe its just the change of the lower trigram from heaven to earth and the power problem might have been cause by that malfunction.

I also asked : " can be fixed" ( hoping its not a motherboard because its pretty expensive and not a wise choice)

5.3.6 > 61

61 as delay execution and 5.6 seems positive ( ?)

Interest to hear your take.

I like hex 1 for power supply and think you will need to replace it.

I'll second (or third) the likeliness of that. I've gone through several power supplies over the years. They frequently go when it gets hot inside, and especially with the tiny fan in a laptop, especially if used on your (warmer) lap frequently. Cigarette smoke is especially hard on them, and on the other components, including the mother board. If I ever choose to use a laptop, I'll invest in one of those pads with two small fans to cool it. They're inexpensive and effective, even when used on your lap.

... and we are all correct ! Thanks for sharing your pov

pretty cool reading. I liked it too. Got it the day before going to the shop and was confirmed just a while ago. Motherboard was :(

should have get the pad you recommend, Bruce. Was tried to keep as space between a simple pad but its not that effective. Technician said - and guess i agree it doesn't worth to replace it. costs 50% of the value of the laptop and its not a new one.

Still unsure what to do . 5.3.6 >61 is still unclear. 61, as the core makes some sense or both 5 , 61 require some patient before action. The three quests also unclear , at the moment. Maybe I should wait a bit before do anything and explore options.

Glad you got it sorted anemos - I didn't respond as I didn't have a clue but was curious what the outcome would be. Sooo what are those fan things called? - Liss

Bummer. So then it was the mother board but the power supply was still functional? Or both went?

I think your second reading may speak to your own inner computer or processor. I'd interpret that you may need to wait awhile until you figure out how to replace it, but (line 6) that a solution will come from an unexpected source, if you remain open and greet this mishap as an opportunity to renew your resources. If your hard drive is not damaged, they can still retrieve the data you need from it. Maybe they'll offer a payment plan for a new or rebuilt one. Wish you luck with that. It's a pain but maybe something good will show up to replace it.

Liss, they're laptop cooling pads. If you Google that, many brands and places to buy them will come up. They're light weight pads with battery or USB operated fan or fans that blow air into or onto the bottom of the laptop. They cost around $25 USD.

One other tip. Do not use a vacuum cleaner to clean the dust from a computer as it creates static electricity and can short out the motherboard. Use the well known compressed air canisters.

I was told that the power ( from the wall socket) reach the laptop hence it opens ( black screen tho) but doesn't reach the necessary components so it will boot. Was hoping from broken Windows - that would be great but no.

Hard drive is fine and fortunately all my data can be restored, I was told. That was my biggest worry as I have all my books and papers and work there- so in that part I'm happy. Have turn on my "scanner" to search for "opportunities" :)

I liked getting 5.6. Yes, in the pit and not easy just go out and buy a new one but still an optimistic line!

thank you again.

Intrigued about who/what the quests are , so will report when they "appear" . One might be little niece that send links from eBay offers and her support / advise makes me smile . "you need to rest a bit from studies , so enjoy yourself !!! " :D

Yeah !! two wonderful and wise helpers :) .... and paraphrasing Yi had some "eat and drinking" fun with them this weekend.

have been thinking about 5>61 reading. What you said earlier , makes sense.

I think your second reading may speak to your own inner computer or processor.

The current situation is frustrating , but somehow that reading helps to contain this frustration. "unexpected" solution is so to the point; budget has no space at all even for a small installment for a new laptop.

what is funny, and curious how will pan out , was that the time I was trying to boot my dead computer, I got an sms from my mobile provider to enter for free to a contest for a tablet. A tablet is not the best solution but.... could be of some help .

5.6 changes to 9: the two , most slow, hexagrams  . Hope those three are on their way :)

Eating and drinking with angels, sounds like a great way to spend a weekend. They may have been the guests in 5.6. Not exactly what you may have been hoping for, but they may have invited a third, which was your own happier self. It seems once someone is content, things seem to flow more smoothly toward their desired direction, like when a boat's sails are unraveled it catches more wind.

A tablet these days may be a neat and simple solution, at least until another way shows itself. Have you given up on repairing your old one?

No DVD but you may be able to have your old hard drive data transferred to DVD or CD to transfer to your work computer?

Ahhhh , Acer :flirt:. I 'm an acer fan , was looking the other day their product I came across some time ago and was thinking about it but nowadays had forgot about it . Thank you for reminding it :)

My data are on an external disk so its easy to transfer ... where is not sure yet ;) . There are other- more urgent- obligations money wise so laptop is a bit down in the list. its no wise to spend money on the current the cost of motherboard and power adaptor equals to 3/4 of the original price, so yes , unless I find a very cheap motherboard I won't fix it.

its weird , for me, bit I'm kind of relaxed about the whole issue. Not very convenient in some respects for not having a computer at home, but still can use the one at office for urgent things... plus I can't take office work at home !!!! I'm enjoying this relaxed feeling- not very me  - still maybe I'm learning something here .

Thank you for your ideas and suggestions !

be well :)

Welcome to the club ;) They are pretty good and less expensive from the more "famous" one's . If you got a laptop don't forget sooo's advice, the cooling pad !!! Both Acer's died from motherboard. My previous one was a bit expensive and needed 400 euros just to replace that part but had it for many many years and working 10-12 hours per day continuously !!!

Thank you Liss :) hope you enjoy your brand new computer too !!!

guests ?

A friend emailed me this morning to say that her brother has a spare laptop that can borrow me till I find another solution ... sounds like the guests of 5.6... and frankly I'm hesitating to accept their offer but reading again this line seems to say "cut the crap-like thoughts"

Could this line points to ones pride to accept help hence the commentaries on honor the guests and don't refuse the help they offer ? I seems like that to me.

funny how much a broken laptop can teach. ;)

Update

The three guests of 5.6 turned to be my three guests that gifted me a tablet .

What can i say about Yi .... coincidence..? Lucky guess ?

anemos if you do not wish to spend on purchasing a new laptop, you can also get a netbook, or even a Chromebook. They may be good options depending on what you need the machine for.

Though there is a thing about the Chromebook I am not quite sure of - I don't know if you can work on them while you are offline.

Hi ragini,
Thank you for your input

Couldnt correct my previous post and part of it is from the older one when still was trying to figure out what the 3 guest might symbolize. It turned out that the "3 guests" were 3 guests-dear friends that offered a solution to my problem. Its a big gift and would say no if hadnt gotten this line and hearing myfriends echoing ,almost verbatime the message of 5.6

Still in a 61 mode and enjoying h5;). Not in a rush to decide

two key issues (not iching)
1. Open the back with a screw driver - change the mother board battery if the laptop is > 2 years old. Close up and restart. The battery is between $1.00 to 5.00. Dollar store sells it for $1.
or/and
2. Open the back, vacuum, remove the RAM and vacuum. Plug it back tight. Close the back, restart.
or/and
3. Vacuum the fan. If you use the laptop without putting it a laptop stand with ventilation, all laptop will die between 2-4 years. System overheat.

I think the problem is not a big one. The technician will charge you like a cash cow and lie to you. $89 + a lot of other charges.

I fix PC as a hobby. This type of work takes about 30 minutes.

Using a typical vacuum cleaner to clear dust from a computer is ill-advised because it can build up a strong static field which can discharge into electronic components in the computer, rendering them useless. There's a reason compressed air in cans are so readily available for cleaning dust from computers. Don't use compressed air from an air compressor either, for the same reason as not using a standard vacuum cleaner. Some shops may be equipped with specialized vacuums designed for such purposes but your common household vacuum can wipe out critical computer electronics.

thanks for the tip. I think it was the first thing he checked and with a new one the computer was still dead. I trust this technician and he recommend just don't waste money on fixing it or seek for a used motherboard. He doesn't sell new ones, so he didn't tried to make a sale.

That is what I have been told too.
