My boyfriend appears to have a learning disability. He is un able to grasp concepts as quickly as others and can only work with one instruction at a time and never learnt to spell as he could not grasp the concept of it.

I sorta have wondered if it is learned behaviour or a physical/gentic brain 'dysfunction' and asked Yi
What is the cause of B learning disability - Hex 18.4>50

This is not a surprising result as his father used to cause all sorts of grief for him emotionally, mentally and physically.

In what way is B father responsible for B learning disability

Hex 43.3.4>60

Sounds to me it is just speaking of the abuse B father imposed on him.

thks for further insight - Liss

What is the cause of B's learning disability?
18.4 > 50

Tolerating what has been spoiled by the father.
In continuing one sees humiliation.

It may be that a disrespect for education in the childhood home is part of the cause of B's learning disability. Although I am good with book learning, I am a poor speller because I do not see the spellings of words but respond to words as they are pronounced. When I misspell a word, I have a feeling that the spelling is wrong but will not know how to correct it. Perhaps twenty times a day I enter 'define ________' in Bing and am given the correct form.

Thanks pocossin - are you suggesting it may have been B attitude towards education that caused his father's wrath? - albeit beating a child is wrong in more ways than one.

I have no problem with him not being able to spell - my youngest is incredibly smart but also incredibly lazy when it doesn't come easy for him and just says 'Mum I spell it how it sounds, that's good enough'.

With B it is just sometimes other concepts that he can't seem to put together that can cause a bit of frustration for me and for him personally.

Could also be indicating a genetic cause, cognitive functions are poorly understood, but I believe there is some evidence to suggest things like dyslexia could have a genetic factor to them. Would fit 18.4 imho

Someone is tolerating what was spoiled by the father ...

Could he possibly be suffering from ADD?
:)
