Let the pitching begin? 29.4 > 47

Hello all,

Having been doing more homework for the past few days, I feel it's time to approach a certain person A but this time around it is mainly to convince him that I have the skills to make the project work. At this point, I consider this person to be the key to the project success so I asked the Yi:

What can I expect if I present my ideas and offer to A?
27 unchanging. I think the Yi is telling me that I need to be careful about what comes out of my mouth as in I need to better structure my pitch?

Upon asking for clarification, the Yi responded:
29.4 > 47. Whoa! If I remember correctly, the abyss is never a good sign as it is associated with danger? But upon reading a few translations, I think it could also be saying that I should deal with my fear (well I am a bit nervous about his potential response) and line 4 says it's not a mistake. However, 47 (Oppression?) also doesn't sound good at all.

I then asked for an alternative path:
What can I expect to go ahead with this project without A?
1.2 > 13. My take is, it seems like the Yi is telling me that the potentials of this project is coming to realization? But I still don't quite understand how that relates to A?

One last reading, I'm scheduled to meet one of the project's stakeholder, lets call him E (BTW if A was on board, it would make my dealings with E a lot easier). I asked:

What could I expect if I were to meet up with E this week?
23.1.5 > 42. Splitting apart? The leg of the bed is split (line 1)? Shoal of fishes? Favor through court ladies (line 5)? I can't make a single thing out of these!
But 42 (Increase) seems to suggest some sort of happy ending?

Sorry for the long post and multiple readings folks but they are all interrelated and there's a bit of dynamics going on in the situation too.

So confirmation, new insights, comments, criticisms are all greatly appreciated. :bows:

27 is both good and bad overall. It is good when you are properly nourishing yourself, but bad when you are eating and not sharing food with anyone else. But for a pitch, it is obviously not good as it is not a persuasive enough. The time is not right.

The clarification of 29.4 to 47, while having a rather good moving line, really doesn't offer much in terms of persuading A either. 29 is a good gua insofar as it requires you to have faith that you can overcome the adversity, but it is still adversity when it comes to speaking to A. The moving line is good for socializing and that is what you need to do. 47 is a time of hardship. Thus, you speaking to A is really not going to work very well at this time.

Going ahead without A seems rather promising at 1 is good for all initiation and creative action. It is an auspicious time to go out and speak to someone, however, not A. 13, moreover, is harmonious activity with others, and the gua demands that you go out and make many, many contacts with people and expand your business relations.

As for E, 23, splitting apart or loss or however one likes to translate it, is very unpromising. Do not go anywhere, meaning that don't even speak to E about this venture at this time. The time is not right. If you go out and try to find more people or attempt to do this venture at first without A or E, you probably will prosper. If you want to speak to A and E, find a better time to do it.

Basically, the entire tenor of all the hexagrams is that this is not the time to speak to A or E, but it is a time for you to socialize and expand your contacts with people, while at the same time working your own way without A or E until the time is right. I would suggest that if your venture is looking good and is working even on an initial level, then you could check again about A and E who would be seeing something more concrete and not just a pitch.

Well ... IMO A's a no no - no-go. With E, interactions might initially seem futile, but the lines
in 23 suggest that thereafter, he may very well change his mind and become receptive. His
reaction/feedback may not be as harsh as per description of line 1 (by no means the most
daunting ... that would be line 4).

I'd suggest you test the waters, tread carefully with E. Do continue to scout about and expand your
horizon re. investors, etc.

Trust that whether or not A's on board, if you're to succeed in pitching re. E, you will succeed. If
for some reason it doesn't work out with E in the long run, things will fall into place with another
stakeholder when the time's right.
