Likely to sell house?

Hi all.

This is my second attempt at deciphering a time question, so please bear with me if I sound like a knuckleheaded newbie. I'm working off the reading and comparing the hex's to the big clock-like circle with the hexagrams around it. (See? I am a knuckledheaded newbie!)

Here's the response I got to the question of when it was most likely that we would sell our house: 50:3,4,5--59.

My instinct is to say that once we've fixed what's needed and established a realistic price (we plan to put the house on the market the second week of September), we could expect to sell the house by November. I also think the 50 is reminding me that more than a house is being sold here, which is true. Selling the house is the prelude to my divorce. Right now we are agreed that it would be simpler to sell the house before we procede with the legalities.

Any thoughts?

Hi Philish,

To me it sounds like there are going to be considerable delays.
50:3, progress stops; the house is good, but no buyers; bad estate agents maybe?
50:4, task far too difficult, help not sufficient; not enough energy; danger of failure.
50:5, the Ting has strong ears/rings of metal. This could refer to the repairs you
mentioned that need doing, and/or, i get the impression you will need to enlist the
help of friends, and/or a better estate agent than the one you have in mind at the
moment.
59 sounds to me like you will succeed in the end, it will get sold.
Perhaps if you could ask and shop around for better estate agents, for quicker
results? And also spread the word around through friends?

Wishing you all the best under the circumstances!

The lines do suggest a problem in selling your house but it will be sold eventually.

Both Hex 50 and 59 are associated with the 5th month of the Chinese calender which would be approx. June next year.

Okay. Don't know much about timing, then. ;-)

Here are my results from asking the question about the two realtors we've spoken with "What can we expect from"
Agent A: 61.1--59
Agent B: 36. 2,3,5--60

Is this saying Agent A would be fine if the house was easy to sell? She's well-meaning but prone to the influence of others? I don't know what to think about Agent B. She'll do what she can in the face of difficult circumstances? She ingenious? Cagey? This mostly about self preservation? Hers or ours?

I'd cross out 'B' for sure. Dark, insincere, and limited.

'A' sounds better, but still iffy; there's the possibility of 'secret designs'.
Because of this 'if', 59 could take two meanings here.
If you are prepared and rely on yourself (?) 59 could mean selling.
If there are secret designs (??) 59 would mean 'disperse this thought/route'.

Not sure what these secret designs could be, but because you are asking
specifically about an estate agent, then maybe this person is not very stable
in being 'correct', and perhaps unpredictable as to how they will go about it.

Because of your previous answer, of being careful with estate agents, while
seeking advice from reliable friends, i'd say perhaps ask everyone you know
if they know of either someone who wants to buy a house, or of a tried and
tested estate agent?

This could be interesting. Yes, I have reservations about B, but am in a difficult negotiating spot because my husband (from whom I am separated) liked B better. A knows the area better, but I believe she's predisposed to certain buyers who aren't the type of buyer for our house. And/or she's easily manipulated at certain points of the process.

B is really a broker. This means she doesn't represent us, the buyer, but rather works as an independent agent and simply passes information through to us.

More to think about...sigh.

I like Agent B because they have staying power, even when the going is tough they can still come through with a result.

But, saying that, you will find that both Hex 59 and Hex 60 will find you a buyer, it is just that the two agents approach the matter from different angles.

Thanks, WF. I looked up Agent B online last night and discovered she's a relatively new broker who has had some success and appears intelligent and, from what I see of her current listings, probably a little hungry for more listings. Considering that we are in the midst of a divorce and that selling this house may require some time, she might be the scrapper we need. We have another week before we need to confirm with her.

I think we can safely eliminate Agent A since no one seems to have great faith in her.

Thank you, both, for your thoughts!
