For several reasons I have to deal with adverse circumstances & people that waste my energy and challenge me in the most ordinary aspects of life.

I asked the I Ching: "Can you see me living my own life without bothersome interfering elements?" and received 23.6> 2.

My first thought: yes, when I move away (the noble one gets a cart). I don't have this option now.
Bradford says: "the noble young one gains ground as the common people tear down their own shacks". Sounds like enlarging your ground (?) instead of destroying what you already have.

23.6 also can show death, I've received it in this sense before.

Any thoughts?

There are several lines that may have twofold or Janus characters/meanings,
(https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Janus)
compared to other lines being more about 'one thing'.
I think 23.6 may be one of them.
(7.5 is another example of this, contrasting the fruits of the actions of elder & younger son. )

Are the two people in the line like
Goofus and Gallant?
Goofus being the example not to follow:
don't destroy your own house.

Your cast is about living with your family,
and the angst of it, no?
Don't tear down your own house.

A Carriage can be a means or an office..
and a way of getting out of there.

And remember: failure at a first attempt is not a portent that all further tries will fail. (unless of course, if you fail to analyze , name, & overcome/circumvent what went wrong the first time)

It's not just about living with family, and you know, I lived alone for several months last year & didn't feel any better. The interfering elements may exist everywhere, including in your country, financial situation, society and of course your own psyche. The moving out experience showed me that the mere physical change of place doesn't solve your problems. That's why I'm hesitant. I'm not saying that the first failure indicates failure in all next attempts, but while I have problems here, I'm not particularly excited about leaving (family, country, anything) nor I see how it may help.

It's not jusr about....

I think I may hear you.

What you call 'interfering elements' is,
by your own description:
what most people would call
'troubles or stressors'

Since, as you acknowledge, they exist in every country, and manifest in completely diffetent ways,
then the only thing that can change
is inside of you: your attitude and reaction to them.

Your hex 9 said this was a good time for
work that is immediately at hand.
And nothing is closer to the heart than you.

23.6 has meant, for me, that I need to really wipe the slate clean. I've received it when I have a lot of resentments or things I think I'm obligated to continue on with. It's meant that I can succeed but I can't do it halfway. "Half measures availed us nothing." That idea. Now, in practice, that's easier said than done. I think it takes a lot of processing to figure out what it means to have a clean slate when, say, you can't actually just jump into an entirely different life. 23.6 is somewhat of an all or nothing thing, I think, but considering it leads to 24 I don't know if it's about external conditions as much as internal. I think both external and internal are relevant and affect one another so I don't think being definitive about that is the most important thing. More just really considering that sometimes we think we can keep an old behavior, perspective, person, etc and still make something new but 23.6 implies not. There's a seed of possibility but it's one seed, not a whole collection of all the same old stuff waiting to be slightly rearranged.

Also, I'll add, willingness to see the potential in what looks bad or ruined.
