WOW, never a day goes by that life doesn't get more complicated! In the past week it's gone from the ridiculous to the sublime. I have a problem which would take an hour to explain -- but it's basically a logistical and financial nightmare. I can't get hold of an end of it to know where to start. I've tried working this so may ways -- even with help -- and it doesn't untangle. I'm stumped and finally asked the Yi:

What can I do about this situation? The Yi says an unequivocal: Hexagram 11 unchanging.

There is one change in circumstances that might help [a potential miracle that hovers but over which I have no control whatsoever] and I asked the Yi: What is the possiblity that this miracle comes to fruition? The Yi says: Hexagram 15 unchanging.

I am here bashing my head on the wall and it seems that the Yi is saying to calm down, go with the flow in Hexagram 11 -- and there is a good chance that the possible "miracle" becomes a reality when all rebalances itself in Hexagram 15. Does that sound too simplistic?:)

Well, I don't know what's up with the Yi -- but the potential "miracle" has just fallen apart and I'm back to desperation. So hexagram 15 unchanging must mean something different than I thought!

there is no such thing as the best hexes.....it all depends on the situation. If you want something to leave your life 23 might be best, if you want to take a risk hex 10 might be best. If you want to withdraw then 33 is lovely to get and if you want to get ahead 35 is pretty good...they are all equally 'good'

er well 29 and 12 may be a little harder to love...but you get my drift...actually if you want to keep on with the thrills and spills 29 can be good to get...and if you want something to go nowhere 12 could be good to get

Hex 15 is about dealing with things as they are...and only doing your bit. Hilary has said theres a tendency with 15 to think everything hangs on you ...15 is a reminder that it doesn't. You do your bit, but you can't guarantee outcomes or control things.

It looks to me that things are as they are and there is not a huge amount you can do to effect them other than simply doing what you can...and dong what needs doing as it comes up.

I'd say 15 is a definately a call to minimize drama over what is or isn't......and certainly stop bashing your head. Take a good look at your role in this and decentralise it. These answers aren't a 'how to' IMO...they aren't saying if you do a then b will happen. Looks like you need to let go that mindset...which is not the same thing as losing hope or giving up...miracles can still happen they just won't necessarily be the result of any efforts you make...(though they could be..) I think Lise has the image of 2 wings (? not sure thats right...) well 2 something...IOW 15 is about you doing your part but there are other 'parts' that have a role in this...so what happens really isn't all down to you here

Have you got Hilarys book yet ? You still seem to be struggling with bad commentaries.

ETA interesting you used the word 'logistics' I'd say 15 is the hexagram of doing it 'on the ground' in the human realm...and then... well we can't be accountable for what the gods may do or not do

Hex 11 is not bad. Notice that Hex 12 is something totally opposite. An old Chinese saying is that: Extremely "Obstruction" (Hex 12) will come to "Greatness"(Hex 11). However, it is not true. The true is Hex 11 has the potential to become Hex 12.

Hex 11 says small goes, big comes. You should satisfy with the situation and care about people who helped you. During the time now, your situation is still acceptable, not as bad as to get desperation. Accept what you have, and do not eager to instant benefit.

Hex 15 is tricky. Modest is some Asian things hard to understand in the Western way. For example:

One says:"You are so lucky to have a such beautiful and talent wife."
Western answer: "Thank you, I love my wife and so proud of her."
Asian answer: "No, she is ugly and stupid, what make you think like that?"

It seems that the Asian answer is ridiculous, however, it is a smart way to protect "wife".

Although in principle, there is no good or bad Hex, but Hex 15 is the only one has every line with "fortune" statements. You may try to use this, start to recognize other people's effort, and trust and authorize others to share achievement with you. Not always keep at the front, but try to step back and observe more.

It's interesting that you have given this interpretation, and so does Trojan, about stepping back because the primary problem that is haunting me is to find that I was completely left out and the steps that were being taken in the situation were illegal without my participation. This is to do with the sale of my house and the person living there has given everyone to believe he can sign agreements to sell. So they have been set up illegally and now the estate agents are running in circles over it. I have just lost ANOTHER sale because of him and his arrogant atittude.

This has made me feel that I must get immediate control of what has been going on -- because nothing can happen unless I do. The entire contract could be negotiated and signed -- just for them to find out it is illegal from the start. This strange behaviour has made one of the agents very skeptical and now the deed has had to be produced as well.

Meanwhile, there was a buyer and now she has evaporated -- put off by the strange nature of this entire business. I only hope, now that I have put the proper paperwork in place, that she will be back. I have backed away in one respect. i told the agents that if there isn't a sale soon, I'm considering renting the place. I figured that might light a bit of a fire if there is any spark of interest, because I'm just tired of this three years on. I can't take much more of it and it is so upsetting -- I have to careful not to overreact, but also make clear that I must be consulted and nothing can go forward otherwise.

BTW, Maverick, I really enjoy reading what you write about the differences in Western and Chinese responses and logic. That sheds an interesting light on how to behave in this situation. As Trojan has also said, best to keep one's head down and not dramatise or exaggerate in any way. This is a matter of protecting business dealings -- as a husband would protect a wife. I'll keep that in mind.:bows:

I have the Wilhelm, refer to the Legge and to Hilary. But the one that so often resonates personally is LiSe. We seem to be on a wavelength and quite often she is the one who "calls" the situation accurately in my life, down to the detail. I don't know why one commentary is more applicable for an individual than another. Wilhelm nearly never means a thing to me and if his were the only one, I'd probably have abandoned the Yi long ago. Should also say: I prefer Hilary over Legge, although both are interesting. I can relate better to the imagery and metaphors Hilary uses. :)

Hi Arabella,

I had a wonderful Principal Broker, who often used the analogy of "flying an airplane" when it came to a successful closing of a real estate deal. Everything is in the take off position right now but you need to get it to land (that is the hardest part)
Having peace inside & remaining calm is always important when landing a plane.
Also sometimes when I'm in a pressed, stressed situations like this, I will ask what hex should I meditate on, that will help make this land or successfully close, or whatever the situation might be. xo

Really interesting recommendation WO, and I followed your advice: What should I meditate on to help this situation? Yi says: Hexagram 48 unchanging.

From this I would gather that there is a boundless source within life and I have to trust to that, without panicking! As this talks the Well, as a tangible support to life, it would seem I have support in this than I am aware of? Any other interpretation are appreciated!

Going back to a discussion we were having about taking into account others previous threads or not....I disagreed to a degree because we are intelligent beings who make connections ...and we will make them.

as an intelligent being :mischief: I think since this 11 answer is around the same topic area as the last 11 unchanging answer you got here http://www.onlineclarity.co.uk/friends/showthread.php?t=14122 they are of course linked. This isn't a brand new answer its the same answer....you are dealing with exactly the same issue you were dealing with there...according to YI...well and of course its the same house and same man you talked about there presumably

No I don't know what it means but if you get it repeatedly its certainly trying to tell you something but it may be one you have to live with and carry around with you for some time and then maybe in a year or two you'll see what it meant

Here you really can't ignore the significance of the connection with the previous hex 11 answer can you...

what that answer was about and what this is about is the same thing...you need to ponder both question/answer scenarios and how they connect...why the answer is exactly the same for both these questions is what you need to ask yourself IMO....what you need to think about here

Of course you are exactly right T. There is no disputing it. And what happened in the last instance is that all of things I thought would be lacking or not happen that would leave me in despair -- didn't happen. Of course, new things happened that still left the situation foggy, as explained in this casting. But the matters from the previous casting appear to have been taken care of with no effort from me -- except to point out that what was being done was unacceptable. A couple carefully worded letters turned the tide in that case.

I've taken just the same role today, fixing all the matters to do with flawed contracts and making sure the old ones are discarded. Now we are to a level playing field once more. Of course in the meanwhile my Ex has destroyed yet another possibility to sell the house -- unless for some reason this buyer decides to try again.

I've got so many things underway in the line of volunteer activities and survival activities, I almost don't have strength to worry about it. But continuing to ride Hexagram 11 unchanging -- maybe I don't have to?

"What can I do about this situation?"
Hexagram 11 unchanging.

The hex indicates the following action: "Divide and complete the course of heaven and earth."

So I'd say get that person out of there, call your lawyer, sign a criminal complaint, whatever. You must divide what is wrong from what is right, the truth from the lie, and this is I think a question of peace through strength, not sitting idly by while someone ruins you financially and commits Felony fraud.

I understand what you are saying Lavalamp. He is terribly annoying, no doubt, and I'm in the position of "damage control" so much of the time. I once had a mentor who advised me to "Never ascribe maliciousness where stupidity might be the real explanation." At first I felt that what was done was malicious. More and more it seems lazy and idiotic. By now, he's shooting himself in the foot as well. And this might sound ridiculous, however, I feel that I will get out of this and have native abilities to go on. He will have only what he walks away with -- and probably lose that as well -- because he has no organised way of thinking at all. I've always taken care of everything that required a mental process and step by step course of action in our relationship. And I see where he is on his own. Getting separated from this will benefit me no end. He will be lost.

I may be deluded but I have the sense that prosecuting him would be like hitting a fly with a hammer. After this he will have no prospects in life except to sit and watch the telly. Whereas, I feel like the world is before me, if only I can survive this final moment of being tethered to him. It's the feeling that Trojan and others have been describing in both readings about this situation -- stop bashing your head and float; let the material stuff drift away. And receiving a hexagram 48 on this issue most recently, I have the sense of letting the Well empty if it will -- it's going to fill again with something better. Odd as it may sound, having been so shaken by this when it happened [again] I now feel that if I float away with self-contained dignity, my position is far more powerful than it would be having this pathetic person by the throat.
