We've moved -- again -- just two weeks ago and nearly everything is unpacked by now. A rather expensive bag of metal rings for the curtain rods is missing and without them I can't hang the drapes. I dread having to buy them again as it will be quite a chunk at a time when I'm flat-out affording the move itself. Meanwhile the road noise is driving us bonkers and something has to be done.

I asked the Yi where I should look to find these. [ I've already called the movers and asked them if an unclaimed box has turned up lately.]

The Yi's response: Hexagram 15.1.4 becoming Hexagram 20. It sounds like I haven't looked in the right place because I'm simply unaware; if I took a better overall view, these might be somewhere nearby?

Any thoughts much appreciated! Arabella

oh you had to move out of the place with the noisy neighbours? thats too bad but its a tough situation to overcome.

is there a mountain of clothes or papaers in the center of your house....or I'm also seeing a top loader washing machine as a comparable mountain in the earth. although who knows how your bag of metal rings could have gotten into a washing machine.

or could it be in the bathroom (modesty...hmmm not sure about how i made that connection)

does your daughter have a similar looking bag?

ok I'll stop now, but hope you find it.

My first thought relating to hex 15 is that the rings are quietly 'doing their job' or are in a place where one might expect them to be 'quietly doing their job'. 15 is about authentically being who you are and getting on with what is yours to do

Your curtain rings are of sound character and impeccably modest

20 is viewing from a tower, from a height ? They aren't up on a ledge somewhere near the curtain poles quietly waiting to do their job ?

I dunno but i don't see them as being somewhere ludicrous like the fridge or in your in your make up bag

I think the little blighters are hanging around something to do with their job...like hanging curtains. These guys are conscientous and I don't think they have gone anywhere silly....I think they are somewhere you'd expect them logically to be

Of course I could be so wrong and you may find them in the freezer....but I just don't think thats their style

Also 15 doesn't stand out, its modest, it blends in...worth looking around on things the same colour etc

OH SORRY!!! I just came back to this and realised I've typed the casting WRONG!

It is, of course 25.1.4 becoming 20. Dyslexia strikes again.

By the way, the bag of these would be quite heavy and rattle around. Another reason I'm just mystified.

Just went through the boot of the car for the third time -- just in case. This business of the draperies coming down is very distinct in my mind since we did it more or less last thing. The rings went into a plastic grocery bag and, i swear, were placed in something like an empty bathroom bin. But the bins are all here and placed around and no rings.

The other thing that occurs to me is that my eldest helped me to move since I was going to temporary quarters for a month with the bulk of things in storage. It has just dawned on me, the bag of rings could have become mixed with grocery bags in the boot of her car -- since they too were in a Tesco bag, they may have just blended in.

Trouble is, she's on a week holiday and her car is at the airport -- so no way of knowing until she returns. AAAAAAAAAAAAaaaaa!

I asked the Yi if I've guessed right and the answer is: Hex 52.6 becoming Hex 15

Sounds rather promising?:)

Oh, Chingching, no we still live in the place that had noisy neighbours. But we had the police over about six times and they got sorted. In fact, we think they are gone.

Thanks Poccosin. I've collapsed all the boxes and bagged up the wrapping paper. So I know nothing was in any of those. I have to think about containers that may be around. I have so little really at the flat it would seem this should just jump out at me. This is why I'm thinking it has to be with my daughter. The only other choice is that they somehow got boxed with my clothes -- but that seems just impossible since they were packed at opposite ends of that house. That's the last ditch and I'll look in the morning.

Hi Guys, these little "blighters" as Trojan calls them, have been found!!!

The curtain rings were indeed in the clear plastic bag that I had remembered BUT that was inside a second heavy dark blue plastic bag I hadn't remembered at all. On top of the rings inside the blue bag were a number of wooden suit hangars that were lashed together with ribbon. The entire collection, blue bag and all, were turned upside down and were underneath a much larger clear-plastic zip bag that had come with a blanket inside, but was now filled with clothes brushes, lint brushes, cedar blocks for closet, etc. So all of that was obscuring the blue bag underneath entirely. And the entirety of this conglomeration were behind a six foot long clothing rail full of hanging clothes. As the rail is on wheels and I finally moved it today while organising the bedroom better, the rest of the mess in the corner became apparent -- et VOILA!:)

Really ace when you think about it how exact everybody got with the circumstances of where I'd find them -- amazing. Pocossin was DEAD on it. No?

You know, I was even thinking this morning about the fact that i gave the wrong casting in the beginning and yet, those who were trying to read it in earnest still had valuable guidance. I'm thinking for instance of Trojan saying the rings [to paraphrase] were put were where they were left, doing what rings can do about it. In short, her evaluation gave me the message -- you'll find them soon enough, don't panic, they're right where you left them. Frankly, it made me hesitate about buying any new ones unless the flat was turned upside down and every nook and cranny searched. Which turned out well.

Contemplating this little incident -- of giving the wrong casting and still getting some value from what was said -- it gives me the idea that good readers can find their way from anyplace back onto the path, even from a flawed position. Something like the story that Tuckchang told about the diviner working from the wrong birthday for an enquirer and still giving what he considered a valid answer. I wonder.
