Lost my cat, friend of 10+ years. Keep getting similar readings...

My loving cat companion of 10+ years vanished on a very dark morning near 4:30 am, exactly one month ago. I found a bit of fur and her break-away collar about 40 feet from my house. Haven't seen her since, and have done everything imaginable to find her. She was not a roamer, mostly and indoor cat. We were very close. This is really a tragic loss.

Best guess, it may have been a mountain lion attack. We are on the edge of the country out here. BUT, I have found no blood, nothing that would indicate a kill, just as small struggle, then poof, she's gone.

So I have turned to the iChing over the past month. Remarkably, nearly every reading seems to be very clear. The most recent example is indicated above.

My heart wants to believe the theme of - loss & then joyful reunion - that comes up again and again in the iChing. But my head tells me that shes most likely gone for good and there's just no logic in continuing to hold out hope.

I have selected these four (above) to show because they are a little less clear, but nevertheless seem to contain some fairly profound threads of meaning. And either I am swimming in hopeful self deception, or could it be a fact that my dear cat and I will be together again someday?

Comments anyone? I would dearly love to get someone else's perspective on this.

Very sorry to hear about your cat Joseph. I love cats.

Animal friendships can be quite powerful and it can be quite a tug at the heartstrings when they depart.

I think your guess might be right as the evidence and the hex readings don't seem to say she is going to return this time round. But then others may see something different.

Obviously, I really hope she returns for you but I would try to ease the logic and the heart together and let her go. Maybe say a small prayer for her. You never know, some say this helps them find their way back to their animal groups safely, or if she is still on terra firma then it can act as a beacon. Who knows? If she does come back then it will be a wonderful surprise. If not, in time, you can always mark her passing by letting another cat into your life.

Odd though:

... you don't see this as separation, then return; The return part being "Laughing words-ha, ha!"?

Regarding this part, "He dissolves his self. No remorse." Wouldn't you say that disillusion of self occurs upon uniting with another? Isn't union/yoga actually a disillusion (of the illusion) of separateness?

Meanwhile, today we received a call from a neighbor who is a technition at a nearby veternary hospital. She lives approximately 2 miles away and said that last Sunday evening she saw Chabot my cat (well, I'm actually "my cat's human") just off her front porch only 15 feet away from where she was standing. My neighbor saw my "Wanted" poster pinned up at the local market today and she thought that the photo on the poster was a match to the cat that she saw. This was the first reported sighting in the last ten days or so, and it appears to be a good one. This woman formerly managed the local chapter of Forgotten Felines, so she really knows how to recognize and mentally record distinguishing characteristics in cats.

There have been a few false sightings that did not turn out to be Chabot, but this one rings true. My neighbor also says that it is very unlikely that a mountain lion would come around our particular residence because of the way it is situated (surrounded by other homes), and that there have been no such sightings in the valley where I live.

Anyway, I know this is not a lost pet board, so I will just ask if there is anyone else who might render an impression about my readings. I would be very interested in anything that anyone has to say.

Your answers do indeed suggest a positive outcome here, so all you can do is to wait and see.

I think its difficult to say if the cat is alive or dead on the basis of the readings since some of the answers could apply equally as well in either case - ie 59 lines 2 and 3 about reunion. I see 59 as about letting go, 59.3 especially as about dissolving boundaries of self - which could fit death. Its a difficult one of course since even if the cat has died you will be be reunited. A being you have loved who is also attached to you, well IMO there is no possibility you can lose each other ultimately. Thats no compensation right now of course, its a horrible situation to be in for you but I think mostly the answers are reassuring that what is happening for the cat is okay right now, I really do, but I wouldn't like to say for sure hes going to return to you in the physical - but i do hope so.

Thanks Trojan. I understand what you are saying out ultimate reunions and all. Some would see death itself as an illusion. But of course I am trying to focus on an earth-plane reunion when asking the questions.

I am still wondering what the bit of fur and lost collar could mean? how and why there would be fur and a collar left behind? Would this mean the collar had been pulled off? do you think a person - or child- tried to grab her? or maybe even managed to grab her?

8 to 16 seems very hopeful to me.

My sister's cat went missing, this only for a few days, and one morning she was out in the yard feeling sad and calling to Noodles. Then she heard the faintest meow. She called again and again and kept getting the meow, and she followed the sound. he had gotten closed up in a garage of a house that was being built nearby ( but it was far enough off to make it almost miraculous that she heard the meow. ) when she got the door open, he was so scared at first that he ran back to the far wall.
Cats get scared -51-and maybe Chabot is disoriented.
I pray she comes back to you

Yes, I am still wondering about the broken collar myself. I don't think a human was involved, simply because this occurred at approximately 4:30 am, during a very dark and cold morning. Unless we're talking about a real Gollem kind of character...

The collar was a break-away collar, so these things are very easily removed if given just a minor sort of tug. Also, she is (micro)chipped. So IF she is still breathing, and even if she strays very far in cat terms, then there is always hope I suppose. And Yes, I do keep getting readings like 8 to 16, all very similar.

Just in case the comment could be useful

I did dare to ask on behalf you about your cat. Instead of asking for a future reunion, I started asking about how is your cat right now. For this kind of question, I find more useful the mathematical aproach.

What's happening regards Jols' cat?

Month: Rat
Day: Dog
Void: Horse and Goat
Subject Line: Jols
Key element: Children (pet)
Answer: 1 unchanging

The key element is Rat, in line 1. It's the same than the month, and it is in conflict with line 4. This means the cat is ok.
Month's influence: Water produces wood and destroys fire (fire is under aspect Officer, meaning worries). Meaning in long term, worries could disappear.
Day's influence: Earth produces metal (brothers) and destroys water (children). It is in conflict with Dragon. This means in the short term, the cat is unlucky.
