Of course Yi is helpful too if you are the problem dangler...earnestly beseeching others and Yi for help....when you just want strokes and aren't really questing for more than that 61.6 often comes up i find

Hi Trojan,

Transactional Analysis was all about seeing things in terms of the stroke economy and judging folks for their games to get their strokes rather than the upfront and open request for strokes from the TA community.

Apologies to Bamboo, but yes, back in the day before moving on to Gia-fu's
Stillpoint Foundation in 1974, and being involved in the demonstrations against the Democratic Party convention in Chicago in 1968, and then to one of the first of Virginia Satir's Marathons (the one accidentally attended by Jane Howard of which she wrote her book Please Touch, etc, etc )--- I was far more active in those days, than even I can imagine today--

I was on the Board of Trustees of a Church in Chicago where the Transactional Analysis folks set up community outreach/education/ free therapy sessions. The journalist Clarence Page was a member of the congregation in those days and I spent a lot of time at the Church and socializing with folks. So I came to be expert in their techniques and theories and such...

So, yes, Trojan anything described by Berne as a "game" is a bad thing. Others noticing game playing in their friends and associates are expected to point out it is a game with the intent by the player to control their interactions to take from them strokes by manipulation and not honest interaction. The hope was that folks could then say, I see you and care about you and would gladly interact with you and give you strokes and such if you will give up the games and interact honestly with me.

That was the intent, but TA has gone away into the history of family therapy and psychotherapy.

As to dangling, I remain a total fan of the little giant or giant of Florence Italy.

Who shows me that when you hire a Italian model for your artistic endeavors, be it 1501 or 2010 you get the same fellow. That model to me today, looks so gay, with his pullover on his shoulder from his mother who worries he would be chilly on his job.

HI Neegula,

To dangle, my Google Translate notes: A penzolare

In English it is a play on words between dangling some treat over a child's head to get their attention and reaction with the observed reality that various parts of our naked human anatomy seem to dangle or jiggle as we move.

So, the player of the strokes game, dangle their lure to manipulate others into giving them strokes upon their own established terms, and the kids in the back of the class are joking of other things they would like to see dangle.

Hi Neegula,

Or in the alternative in general:

http://www.gocomics.com/nonsequitur...edium=gadget&utm_campaign=gadget_clickthrough

Or in particular now this weekend as Spring is Sprung and Everything is about to be all different:

http://judaica-art.com/images/uploads/Eugène Delacroix/Liberty Leading the People-border.jpg

Or in the commentary summing it up:
Women say the world would be a better place if they were in charge.Next they say they are secretly in charge….So it’s secretly a better place, then?

And so loving affairs somehow manage to keep the angular momentum of our Planet Earth on track...

thanks for posting it! :D

Hi Neegula,

Your new signature is an olive branch to the Conservatives. One of their favorite quotes, similar to the legislator who declaimed in his opposition to an education bill to teach foreign languages in the state's schools: "Why would our children need to learn other languages. English was good enough for Jesus Christ and all the apostles, its good enough for our children!"

This thread started with the question why the noble Yi would answer questions about loving affairs folks obsess about. You got to speak to folks where they are, not where they should be. As Malcolm X put it: You can't speak to a Frenchman in German. You have to use language they understand... If all they understand is a rope, get a rope.
The honest concern for the diversity of his fellow citizens and the requirements of open communications. You have to get folks attention and respect before you can dialogue with them. Illustration of his ministry as a true prophet of Islam to the American People.:bows: (!!al Tajali Ojala que si!!)

If someone all fouled up and overwrought with their dreams of getting back their married boyfriend, that is who they are and where they are at. If the Yi Oracle can speak to them and get them interested in something else, like I Ching isn't the entire Universe better off?

I have launched my new I Ching outreach venture, Sparhawk dithered too long to accept my gift to him of it. I dangled as long as I could... So Life Goes On...

I totally agree with Diamanda. A meaningful love relationship with a significant other is the most fulfilling feeling on earth, and, as you say, ensures the continuation of the human race. And Neegula: what on earth are you jealous of? People's unbearable heartbreak and pain when they are rejected by the one they love and who up until recently, loved them back?

Hi there!

Interesting points. Personally, I trust that people will ask what is important to them rather than expect them to ask what I believe should be asked.

But it would be more considerate to post follow-ups to the various situations so to confirm what the Yi has advised them to do type thing. And to be grateful to the ones that offered their interpretation on this board. It is the minimum that one could do.

That's my two pence :D

Hi Bea,

Could you possibly explain what you meant and why you said it?
Do you want change back for your tuppence transaction? I assume you intended the antique big copper penny coins in your comment.
