Making a decision: option one, 29 unchanging, option two, 34 unchanging

I am in a real pickle this morning. Something happened with a person that is really important to me and we have both been very awkward about it. I was a bit sad on Friday due to the awkwardness and not knowing what to do and wanted to sleep so I turned off my phone. Next day I turned it on and didn't see any alerts or anything, so I went with my day. At night I received some alerts and saw that this person had messaged me the past night at around 11pm (it was 8pm the next day). His message was simple but playful. I didn't know what to say so I replied "hehehe (sorry I just saw your message)".
He saw the message but never replied.
Now I don't know what to do about it, knowing him I know he feels taken aback. A friend told me that I shouldn't apologise again because it would be like adding salt to the wound, so I should just send another message to him regarding his original message, but I feel weird about that. So I thought of sending a playful apology and a continuation of the message he had sent.
So I asked the YI:
What if I send the message I intend: 29 unchanging. At first I saw it as a signal to not do anything, danger, etc. but then I read Wilhelm's take on the u/c hex and also Andree's and they both say that one must go ahead, carefully, but still pushing forward.
So then I asked the Yi:
What if I DON'T send the intended message:34 unchanging. In general a good omen, so my first reaction was, yep, I should not send it, force should be applied carefully, etc. But then I started thinking how hex 34 is an "action" hexagram...
I am puzzled and I don't know what to do.:duh:

And I ended up asking: What if I am honest and got hex 2 unchanging. Messaged him apologising again, he said he never got mad. I guess in a way I took both advises: went ahead, but did it carefully.

Yi amazes me once again :)

A, h29: You are repeating yourself. If intention is sincere - good fortune.
B, h34, Wilhelm: In times of great power the superior man avoids doing anything
that is not in harmony with the established order.

Avoid doing something unnecessary.

p.s. thread title is incorrect (24uc)

Hi Ashteroid,
Yes, the thread title is incorrect but I haven't been able to change it :(
I guess re-apologising was necessary for me, in order to be sure the air was clear, so masking it up with playfulness or being anything but direct about it was pointless. That being said, air was cleared but that's it. I think you are spot on.

The situation itself is weird, though. Everything is unclear. For this week I asked the Yi what to expect regarding this situation and I got 56 unchanging. I see it as two options: this weirdness is going to pass or this person is just passing by and I am fooling myself into thinking this is going anywhere.

Nevertheless, tough week ahead.

Hello Lysithea,

You might click the "Report Post" button, and ask a moderator to fix the title. It's the small triangle with the exclamation point in it, just to the right of the "Thanks" button. (I think you might get a note specifying what the report button is for, which may not mention things like correcting titles. But I think it's still okay. I've used it occasionally to request a thread be moved, and it seemed to be fine.)

About your 56 unchanging reading, I wonder if it might mean to expect things to remain unsettled, at least in the week's timeframe you specified. If someone is "travelling" (the name of hexagram 56), they're not settled anywhere - that's what it could be saying about this.
