To be clear I'am well aware that I wouldn't let someones healthcare not be decided by this forum. Let me be clear about that.

But that doesn't mean that I could ask help in the insight in the IC outcome of my questions. The final dissicion is up to me anyway.

My doggy got diagnosed of a failing liver function.
As she is too old to take a part of here liver for examining we will not be sure what the cause of this liver disfunctions is.
So the veterinair told me she would describe medication which might help or which might not help.
As a liver is a very important organ it's about sure that she will die finally of this liver failing, but as the way is often concerning life and death, nobody will know when.

While being someone that tries to take as little medication as possible and only will take them if really really necessary, as my dog depends on what I decide, in big lines the same goes for her.

I ask the questions because one could, often out of fear of loosing a very very good compagnion, decide to try the medication.
At the other hand medication could make her even more sick and than die..

I ask the IC two questions.
1. What will the taking of medication do for my dogs health: 64.2 > 35
2. what will the -not- taking of medication do for my dogs health: 58.4 > 60

Seeing the outcome of the questions I would say I would try medication for her.

Without going into great detail as it is unnecessary, giving your dog the medication will certainly benefit him because not taking the medication will put a definite limit on your dog's ability to survive much longer. So, take 64.2 quite literally, it would temporarily bring a halt to his liver failing soon, it will therefore prolong his life for a while longer at least.

I'd move in the other direction. When you ask about taking the medication, you draw 64.2, which says something like "putting the brakes on this situation brings good fortune", which says to me that you would do well to not give the medication to the pup.

And when you ask about not taking the medication, the Yi responds with 58.4, which is all about working on maintaining your emotional balance rather than doing anything on the outside, in the world, in the realm of the dog's physical well-being.

I think the Yi's saying something like this: 'the medication isn't going to do a lot of good, she's an old dog, so do what you can to deal with your feelings rather than playing the odds'.

That's what I read in it.

I'd go with Dobro here. I think thats a pretty intelligent interpretation.

The exact question was, "1. What will the taking of medication do for my dogs health: 64.2 > 35"

What will it do, not whether to take it or not. Reading and understanding the question really helps when giving a trustworthy answer.

Taking the medicine will apply the brakes to the dog's failing health which then leads to "progress".

Think carefully about this, the dog is not only your companion but he relies on you for everything especially when it comes to his health. He maybe is old, but would you do the same as someone mentioned above to your grandmother, she's old so no point in giving her any medicine as she is going to die anyway. Dogs are just the same as people, they don't want to die unnecessarily, so don't listen to people who say, well, it is only a dog so why bother or concern yourself as there are plenty more in the market for sale. Oneday the person above who made these intelligent remarks may well find himself in the same position, I bet he will scream when the doctors say, he's old don't waste any more money on him as he is going to die anyway.

The I Ching doesn't always answer questions in the exact sense they are asked. In fact i find it often doesn't it goes one better and tells me of what I'm really asking about and actually the question i ask is of less and less importance. This idea is quite confusing for beginners so its probably not an especially useful idea for them to go by but as ones experience of and relationship with the yi deepens it easier to know intuitively how the Yi is answering. I thought in Dobros interpretation he picked up the meanings quite intuitively and IMO I felt they were spot on....which isn't to say they are 'right' of course
the real answer lies with Signs and his doggy, but they seem right to me.

If you re read the question you will see the vet was undecided about if the medication would help the dog . I'm sure if the vet had assured Signs the drugs were essential he would give them to the dog, but if the vet isn't sure and the drugs like most drugs might have unpleasant side effects the dog may be better off without medication..and the owner, knowing the dog well, has a difficult decision.

Are you saying that I am a beginner with no intuition, that I can't see the answer that the IC is giving out? Do you really think that this simple question is not being answered at all and the IC is giving an answer about something else entirely here? So, if you thought that Dobro understood the meaning because he is the intuitive one then obviously you mean that I didn't understand the question, and therefore my interpretation is wrong because I have zero intuition. Am I a beginner and I don't have a clue what I am talking about, is that what you are hinting at? Because it damn well seems to be. You act like your some kind of IC teacher or something talking to me as if I am just some ignorant student, what is going on here?

I said I liked Dobros interpretation and i think i have every right to say that without having to justify myself to you. I also qualified that later by saying this didn't necessarily mean i thought he must be right because noone will be right apart from Signs, its his oracle.

No i wasn't referring to you as a beginner but the newbies that post here.

Read what you said, you said that Dobro is the intuitive one as he picked up the meaning, therefore saying that I did not pick up the meaning due to my lack of intuition and experience. I think that you should clarify exactly what you meant before this gets totally out of hand. I take offense at this veiled insinuation. I am not asking you to justify why you think that Dobro is right because personally I don't care.

Also, Signs does not know that is why they asked in the first place, and yes the IC does know the answer.

I outta here before I lose it!

When reading and interpreting, I always look at whether I think the Yi is responding *within* the parameters of the question, or whether it seems to be that the Yi is responding *beyond* the parameters of the question. I do this, because I've found that the Yi responds, nine times out of ten, to the general situation being enquired about, and *doesn't* respond to the intellectual conditions and fine-tuning that we sometimes put into our question.

Signs' first question was: "What will the taking of medication do for my dogs health?" My feeling was that the Yi was responding to "give medication to dog?" and that's why I interpreted the way I did. Yes, my interpretation was intelligent. But what kind of intelligent? Not so intelligent if you think the Yi was answering the question AS IT WAS PRECISELY STATED. But I've already pointed out that I think the Yi was responding more globally to the query. And at a global level, my interpretation was effing brilliant. Willow, you don't have to go into attack/defense mode on this occasion; you just have to point out that your interpretation was based on a model of 'exact correspondence between query and response'. My interpretation, by contrast, was based on a model of 'global response to an exact query'.

No sweat.

%26quot%3Bcultivation of inner sound,%26quot%3B or nada yoga

Dear peoplez,

An emotional fight hanging over my doggy... liver/life.

Ego's seems to be easy triggered in a case of living or dying. And even more open if it is an animal, that's what I read.

I'am 46 years old and the IC is my most wonderfull guide since I was about 26...
Still I take the insights of others very serious for I'am convinced that if your stay openminded and don't stagnate... once life is about learning untill the end.
Once you consider yourself having the knowledge, life itself will show you that you don't.

I don't count too much in newbees and seniors...
Children of 8 show me things in life which make me feel very tiny and unwise...
I consider my dog being a shaman that protects(protected) and teaches(teached) me all along!

She's one of the few, most incredible wise, precious beings that came in my life!

In this 3d world, where we humans are the most arrogant once, able to distroy about all it's cosmic balance, nearly it feels like a too big responsablility to decide for this wonderfull being: Nada (yes: -nothing- in Spanish like hunderds of people confirmed me while they thought being wise...
Nada means sound in Sanskrit.
And everything is sound.
In sanskrit "Cultivation of inner sound," or nada yoga.
Nada may refer to: Nada :Serbian word for `hope`.It is also common female name given in Serbia. Nada : an Arabic female name that means morning Dew, and may also refer to generosity.

Astounded I was when found out about all this great impressive meanings, while we gave her this name because we knew it as a nice Dutch girls name..

This week we will start a medical treatment, to help her liver a bit.

Thanks you all for your insights.
Please remember we're all one.

Send love and light to everyone,
Signs
