Now I have access to a computer, but not my books. If someone else would feel to post 13.6 that would be great. Otherwise I will be back in a few days.

Nine at the top means:
Fellowship with men in the meadow.
No remorse.

IC+ 13.6

Line 6
"Unfortunately the ideal is often not reached as there is still a tendency for a narrower interpretation by individuals. One perseveres."

with/from likemindedness comes revelation, unmasking (49) - (trigrams of 49 giveus : with/from guidance comes intensity in expression.)

13.5 - mutual recognition above and beyond the differences?

13.6 - perhaps we're consecrating our broader alliance - our transformed relationship - in a wider space where we don't tread on each other's toes. Then we can move onward and outward. Perhaps we're without regret because we've avoided our own conflict, or at least put it in perspective.

I like it. :) but...

13.5 sure has played out to be a big and sometimes disturbing disappointment in my life. Though I was able to recognize mutual interests and our common origin, the differences turned out to vastly greater, and common traits would not guarantee an enduring relationship of any great consequence. A tepid relationship at best, and no relationship with what is harmful at worst. It's no wonder the fan yao (30.5) produces tears in streams. Some things can not be fully shared in common. Ones own light will sometimes have to suffice. But you can still hang out with others in the meadow.

Ah. Thanks for that - one experience is always worth any six theories. (Or at least that's been my experience ;) ) I think 13.5 promises mutual recognition of commonality as well as difference, and at least the hope that with this higher degree of clarity, we can avoid bloodshed. Clarity of perception, though - judging from the lines of 30 - is often not much fun.

Yes, and it’s hard to know what someone else thinks, and impossible to know what will become of their thinking in the future, or of ones own? So there’s always hope of reconciliation of differences through who-knows-what, when or how.

I have to laugh, though, at my reaction the last time I received this line. I’ve gone round and round with this guy for years. One week beings friends and the next mortal enemies. I don’t use the word evil often nor lightly, but this man had so much anger and hostility inside, and his actions toward others was deplorable and destructive. I kept trusting that the goodness in him would eventually rise to the surface, and we could then share equally in our common experiences in life, of which there were quite a few. But again and again his actions toward me and others proved otherwise. I finally asked the Yi about this and received 13.5. I told Yi - no, I shouted at Yi “NO WAY! Not this time!” and closed the book, hard! I still come across him once in awhile; still up to his old deceptive tricks. What can one have in common with the devil? Well, I’ve learned a lot about myself through him. I guess that’s still viable fellowship?

I think 'people' in the name of 13 refers to everyone, or everything, which you make 'your' people. Not limited to humans, not even to physical beings. Even your thoughts can be 'your people' or they can be aliens, it depends on your ability to make a unity with or among them or not.

13.5 A union is not something which happens, it has to be made. There is the need for knowing each other in order to get along well. Or to know whom to avoid. Show your feelings at the right moment, all your sadness and joy, all your intentions. The enemy is the unknown one. Make everything clear like 30.

And in the spirit line, 13.6, it is good to stay in the meadow, don't expect everyone to be of the same level. Some change like leopards, others only in the face (49.6). If you limit your exchange to your own level, nothing new or unexpected can meet you, no possibility to grow, to expand your horizon.
