Hello,

First off, sorry for any English mistakes.

My girlfriend is going through a very difficult moment. She's been having (life-threateningly) heavy mental struggles, which led to an important nervous breakdown. Her parents and I were clueless about how to deal with it, until a psychiatric intervention was necessary. I tried everything I could in order to change the situation, trying to give her comfort and peace, but it was in vain; she was feeling restless, crying all the time, feeling really desperate.

She lives with her mother and her son. We've been together for 2 years, and we were trying to have plans of our own, but the current financial difficulties forced us to have more patience than necessary to accomplish something.

She was having professional problems for the last few months, unable to find a job that suited her (she's an incredible teacher), but lately she had to refuse opportunities due to her situation. I guess this made everything worse.

Their parents tell me this is all new to them as well. We have no idea of what caused this. One important fact is that she abruptly stopped taking a (very mild) antidepressant in December (which she had been taking for a long time), and we are being forced to believe that this caused all the imbalance we see now.

She's been hospitalized today.

I've been trying to be optimistic, but I'm also very worried. The problem is that I've been annoying the I-Ching with the same questions. Been trying to find answers to what is going on.

The latest consultations are:

May 8th - What is going on with her deep inside?
HEX 58.2.5 to 51

May 8th - What should I do?
HEX 64.1.2.4.6 to 24

May 9th - What is going on in her house (with her interactions with her mother and son)?
HEX 50.3.4.5.6 to 29

May 10th - What's going to happen to her?
HEX 18.3 to 4

May 10th (after I knew about the intervention and hospitalization) What will happen to her?
HEX 21.3.6 to 55

I've been trying to interpret the answers by myself, but maybe I need help - and I thank everyone who can help me here.

The first answers were hard to understand. Hex 58 talks about depression (I think) due to excessive rationalization.

Hex 18 talks about correcting the path after an overreaction.

Hex 21 (and the changing lines) seems to me somewhat troublesome. Maybe she's going to go through "humiliation and the remorse of finding ourselves in the grip of a depressed feeling (line 6)".

I don't know how to read Hex 64 in this case.

Two other facts that are going through my mind: 1- she contracted covid a few months ago, and it was at the same time she started to complain about brain fog, restlessness, anxiety, etc. I read somewhere that the virus affects the nervous system. I really don't know.

2 - I have a feeling (just an intuition that won't leave me) that her upbringing has a lot to do with it. I don't have intimate communication with her parents, so I can't say if this is true or not.

I'm afraid I will never have my girl back the way she was. She was happy, optimistic, strong, and joyous all the time.

Thank you for any kind of help interpreting the Yi.

I dare to say I understand how distressing the situation is. During last three years two people I loved and appreciated went through mental health issues, and I was depressed for about one year myself. I answer your questions by mixing my understanding of the I Ching with my intuition, so maybe they aren't literal.

May 8th - What is going on with her deep inside?
HEX 58.2.5 to 51

Opening to dangerous influences and going through shocks.

May 8th - What should I do?
HEX 64.1.2.4.6 to 24

You can't do anything at this point. Wait for her to recover (to some degree at least).

May 9th - What is going on in her house (with her interactions with her mother and son)?
HEX 50.3.4.5.6 to 29

A slow transformation with repeated dangers.

May 10th - What's going to happen to her?
HEX 18.3 to 4

It's not known, however what happens is due to a paternal corruption. Sounds like she's been genetically predisposed to it anyway.

May 10th (after I knew about the intervention and hospitalization) What will happen to her?
HEX 21.3.6 to 55

Going through a hard period when her connection to the outer world is stopped and many layers shadow her perception.

This is not really an interpretation of your lines but with what Marybluesky said about the paternal corruption.....I wonder if Covod activated some latent disorder?

"Open to dangerous influences" could also suggest autoimmune problems.

Your girlfriend is not alone in these struggles. Many many people are dealing with "long covid" and it causes all the symptoms you listed. Look up Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS).

I wonder if she or you could find some solace in support groups online for people dealing with long covid.

The pandemic was a mass disabling event. Many people had latent mental health and autoimmune disorders activate post Covid.

I am not sure where you live but if its in the US, we definitely have not been given reliable information on Covid aftereffects or adequate care.
