I posted something in the other thread and my post disappeared... then I noticed it went to the middle of the thread and that the last poster shows as Willowfox even though inside the thread the last post you can see is by Hilary....

This will definitely make communication difficult for a while, as some of us seem to be living in the future... Can I get the lottery numbers from them??? (i'm so happy that lol emoticon is back:D )

Ah - so not just the 'life diagnosis' thread?
Sending message to Vbulletin now. Though of course, when I say 'now'...

*drawing veil now*

The problem was because the server thought it was 12 hours in the future. So it labelled posts as 12 hours ahead. Then it changed its mind and got the time right again. But VBulletin cleverly orders posts according to the time they're stamped with -so for another few hours yet, posts to any thread with this problem will land in the middle, before the posts that were made earlier but dated later.

See? Makes perfect sense.

There may or may not be a way to straighten those threads out... I'll see. But admit it, they're a lot funnier this way.

Heh heh I love this upside down stuff, reminds me of that game where everyone writes a sentence on a piece of paper, folds it, passes it round to make weird story at the end. Where is this gonna go

What is going on behind that veil!?!?!?
In MY thread!?!?!?!?

I don't know but Martin may have a clue, he's the one kissing people in parts other than the cheeks...
Besides, what happens behind the veil, stays behind the veil: Step in...

Aaaaaaaaah... I didn't know that when a knight kisses a maiden on the hand, there has to be a veil to keep the world out...

You know, Martin is kind of prudish and I think he also finds veils sexy... :D

Back to normal

character0111.gif

?

Anyway...

Our time-travelling adventures are over, and all posts now get added to the end of their respective threads. But the various support departments tell me it'd be complicated to try to put the posts back in their correct sequence. I think that's tech speak for 'it'd all go horribly wrong'. So - what with the astrological climate and all that - I won't.

*sigh*

Just visited my web host's news forum and found this:

"We are opening an emergency maintenance window beginning 22:00 on Sunday 5th Nov 2006.

During this time we will be performing a reboot of our core aggregation stack, this will cause complete loss of connectivity for all customers while the devices reboot and reconfigure.

Depending on the result of this reboot we may also be performing further diagnosis or a software update on the stack, if this is the case then further reboots may be required.

Total outage time for each reboot is anticipated to be approximately 5-10 minutes.

We apologise for the outage caused by this essential work."

Here's hoping they're right about the 5-10 minutes...

Well, they're apologising for the outrage, so that's okay.

Oh, sorry... 'outage'. Okay, now I'm pissed. They think they can just go and reboot their core aggregation stack any old time they want to, it seems. Piffle.
