I went from Australia to the Philippines, so there was no way I could take things like TV's etc, I left one box at a friends house it has things like Asterix comics that my mum kept for me, i used to read them when I very young.
I will get it shipped over eventually although they are pretty safe I guess, they are just in an attic.
I dont miss the stuff really, I have done this three times I think in my life.

When I travel overseas i dont even like taking a suitcase that way you dont have to wait around for your luggage to come through, its gets lost sometimes as well.

Yes basically the plan was to start again, I took my business with me which was in a laptop so I took that as well, I had my girl here, I was starting a new life.
I guess its just stuff at the end of the day, that can be replaced, sometimes books you miss but I do most of my reading online nowadays and all my music is online as well.

Due to the way I have lived my life I have never got attached to physical things so much, at first I didnt have a choice when I was younger about leaving things behind but now It doesnt bother me. I think now that I am in a family environment I will prob build more stuff up but its mainly for my girl really and my son.

It doesnt take long to build more stuff up again.

Update: Turns out it's easy to give stuff away, in this city, where people move all the time. So I expect to give away my bed on July 25. It wasn't worth trying to ship.
I did sell my sporting goods (which is interesting in light of Hexagram 6 to 4 2 -- shows that despite the contention involved, 42 increase to me won the day).
I'm giving away a bunch of furniture.
Thanks all.

Hi, oceangirl, I forgot to look at my dreams. But, there still may be something there. My bed is not gone yet. I believe somebody wants to have it for free, though. Thanks for the reminder.

I'm waiting for my good luck re: the bed.
It has proved to be burdensome -- to give away or sell or take my bed!
Maybe a dream will still come to me.

Update: confirming Sixth Relative's predictions.
Lots of drama about giving away my bed. At the last moment, a man in the neighborhood says he really wants the bed, it will be perfect for him. I was about to have it junked (tomorrow), but this man is asking me to hold it for him until Thursday. So, the final outcome is not yet secure, but it does look like the prediction re: bed has come true!

Hex 3u and Bed

another update: I wonder if the earlier readings picked up bad luck (rather than good luck) regarding a bed --?
today, I had somebody who swore up and down that her father in law wanted the bed. At the last moment, he decided he didn't want it. And that puts me now to a big inconvenience, even though I saved it for him.
The woman who arranged the deal was apologetic. Still, I am left with a problem.
I have had so much drama and turbulence about this bed.
I could have had it taken away last week but now, due to my generosity in holding the bed for somebody else, I am at the last minuted burdened by having a bed that I can't get rid of. I'm leaving on Tuesday.
Another cast is in order:
I ask, "what's the best (most cost- effective) way to give away or get rid of my bed for the good of all concerned?"
I received: 3u
I understand it: I should appoint feudal delegates or subordinates in my stead.
I can schedule a bulk recycle. They will pick up on Wed.
The trouble is, a) I am leaving Tuesday. The landlord could get cited, and fined, for having stuff on the curb for 24 hours.
It will be a risk I must take, though.
b) only 2 bulk recycles are allowed in a year. I had another one last week. That means, this building will not get another pick up for a year.

I feel violated, actually, since it is because of my own generosity, in holding the bed for somebody, that I'm putting my landlord at risk. And if it's hard to transport the bed to the curb, so that's more inconvenience.
The whole situation with my bed has become very unpleasant -- and this is only the final episode. There were more difficulties along the way. Why?

One more reading: What lesson am I to learn re: the bed? and the difficulties concerning it?

18.3.4 to 64
I guess it's saying, I've been too indulgent. That's why I have had this trouble.

Hi LoK, if you don't mind I would like to share a few readings I made earlier.

Looking back at 61 I think i should have trusted my understanding of it rather than text: don't bother with other people trying to solve your problems - but also, as situation developed - that all you need is yourself, outer things don't really matter.
31 was saying, as oceangirl pointed out - connection, trying to hold onto the furniture, asking do you really need it?
So imho both answers to your question were pointing to letting things(furniture) go.

Now, my casts back from 12-Jul-2016
Should he move furniture? 41.3 → 26 (Great Potential), Richmond:
Three going in company will lose one.
One alone finds company.

Literally you will find new stuff in a new place, lose the old.

Sell or give away and move without it? 62.6 → 56 (Journeying), Richmond:
He does not meet him but passes him by.
The bird flies from him. Misfortune.
Natural and intended hurt.

Trying to deal with outer[62] things, get a good deal, being thrifty[62], will backfire.

So what's the advice? 30.5 → 13 (Fellowship), Daniels:
It is good to realise your mistakes.

Re-think the whole approach, you almost did it by deciding to give away the bed but there was that last hurdle with dad-in-law.

Let go of old stuff, move freely? 7.6 → 4 (Immaturity), Richmond:
A prince builds up his domain. A man of low ability would be useless.

Again I see here 'rebuild your castle anew'.
Using inferior people - I think refers to an attempt to try finding new owners, which'll fail.

Thanks for keeping us updated, good luck with your move :)

Hi ashteroid, thank you for reminding me of your readings. I did pretty much follow this advice. I gave away all of my furniture (except for my weight set, which I sold successfully). In most cases, everybody was very happy with the gifts of furniture.
The bed -- different story. I remembered Sixth Relative had said something about a lucky event surrounding the bed , -- so that's why I update to remark on the extraordinary (but unlucky) events around this bed.

More detail, fyi.
The bed, however, has caused these troubles. I actually -- for just 24 hours - offered it for sale. Why? Because I felt the first person who came by , to take it for free, was disrespectful of what a great bed it is and she ended up not taking it (for free).
I posted it for sale (speaking of the quality of the bed) AND somebody offered to buy it. Later, I decided I did not wish to sell it . So I offered it for free again.
Then this happened. This is a major inconvenience, like I described!
I realize this may be too much detail -- or more info than you need - but thanks, Ashteroid, for your detailed responses ! And everybody else who contributed to this thread, too.

Hi all, here I am -- having moved . For anyone following this (albeit complicated) thread, you will know that I had big issues with my old bed, before I moved. I wanted to transport it with me , but that was too expensive. Then, I tried giving it away, and my generosity was (as if) punished, putting me to inconvenience -- as one recipient after another fell through. All the while, I cried, as if losing a friend as I left the bed behind. One of the readings in this thread predicted I'd have good luck re: the bed.
So here I am and interestingly, I got a great new bed at an excellent price!
At first I set up the new bed and it was too high -- so I just put the mattress on the floor, Japanese style, and it's nice now and of course for sharing.

I think there's a surfeit on the market -- even to give away -- because so many people move often in San Francisco. anyway, in my new place, I experienced luck around getting a bed. So with respect to good and bad fortune, it all evens out.

We should export all the excess beds to the Philippines and make a bomb, its good to have you back buddy, I do know what you mean, the amount stuff people used throw out in Australia. Here they will remodel it in 10 second flat and you will see it in a mall.
(I was thinking of an old couch)
You should have used the homer simpson trick when he tried to get rid of the dangerous trampoline, put a chain around it.
Wait for someone to steal it, haha
