Hi all,
I am having a lot of anxiety about a decision I am about to be forced to make and have had some conflicting iching readings. Today I cleared my mind and asked fresh though, and was hoping you can help me make sense of the readings.

I am at a crossroads with my living and working situation. I am currently living with a roommate who I have been living with for almost a year. This has been a kind of a rocky year, as we are not super compatible just as people and particularly as people sharing an intimate space. It has not been terrible, but it has been a source of anxiety. She is a good person. We are just very different.

Aside from the living situation, I also have a private art studio that I pay for in addition to my rent. On top of that I am paying for storage, because everything does not fit into my apartment/studio.

So overall I am paying a huge amount of money– more than most people pay for a one bedroom and even some 2 bedrooms in my area.

So, it seems like the best option is going to be to move out. But I am very anxious about this also, because my apartment is a good deal (for what it is). That is, for the amenities and location it is cheaper than a lot of places. It is too expensive for just me though, even if I moved my art studio into the spare room. Also, I am starting to think that I would be okay doing without some of the amenities if I could just have the peace of mind of having my own space and of having my studio more conveniently located, even if that also means giving up some of the amenities of having a separate studio space.

I am really on the fence about it still though and have to decide in a couple of days. I originally thought that at least the weird roommate situation would be naturally alleviated by the fact that my current roommate was supposed to be moving to another state (to a PHd program) but literally just told me today that she plans to stay in our current city, b/c she got into a PHd program here, and it is the best one. UGH. So even if I wanted to stay in my current apartment and get a new roommate it would be the awkward conversation of asking her to leave.

SO anyway, here is what I asked the iching:

1) tell me what I should know about moving out of my studio and apartment.

58.2>17

2) tell me what I need to know about finding and moving into a new space that will serve as my studio and apartment

60.1.5>7

I am thinking that it seems like a good omen, but just warning that there are limitations inherent in the situation, and that I will have to be super disciplined and persuasive to get what I want.

What do you all think?

I really need help to feel at peace with my decision.

Thank you so much in advance!

It seems a good idea to me. You don't really need all those amenities to be happy, do you? It seems to point to more balance, emotionally and financially.

2) tell me what I need to know about finding and moving into a new space that will serve as my studio and apartment

60.1.5>7
Accepting your own limitations is a good thing. It doesn't mean making huge sacrifices or imposing harsh restrictions upon yourself, but just living within your means, as a strategy for the time being.

Hi Mirian,
Thanks for your response. I think I have made my decision and will choose to find a new place. Ugh. It has been a tough decision, but it just doesn't seem to make sense to keep this apartment. No I don't need the amenities. I've always been fine with a window unit instead of central heat and air and can always call a laundry service or find an apartment with laundry in the building. It has been nice to have laundry in my apartment and to have such a conveniently located apartment, but I do think the piece of mind of being on my own will be really nice. I think it also might be nice to make art in my own apartment again, as I can make whatever mess I want since it's mine, and there will be no commute. Now please just send good vibes into the universe to help me find the perfect place! And wish me luck!

Thanks so much for your insight.

Hi Jen, this reading sounds to me that you're not moving anywhere but rather either finding someone more compatible to move in or sorting things out with your current room mate to make life a lot more pleasant. - Liss

Thanks Liss, but sorting things out with my current roommate is impossible. She is literally the most impossible person I have ever dealt with. As for staying here, I am honestly not keen on continuing to stay in a place where my roommate is 4 ft from my door. It's a recipe for disaster. I am out of here!

I was just commenting on the reading ariel13 not your circumstances. I understand completely where you're at. - Liss

what happened here???

Hi Liss,

Glad you ask! This is one thread I completely forgot to return to. What happened is that I moved out and found a much better apartment!! I have been there for two years now. I absolutely adore my place. It took some time for me to get used working from home, but I finally moved my full art studio into the apartment. It is a bit small for some of the work I do, but overall works well and is very comfortable. When I first moved in there were a few little road bumps with some noisy neighbors, etc. But those neighbors moved out, and now it's just fantastic. I have literally become a huge homebody just because I love my apartment so much. Also, the location turns out to be way more convenient with an express train, a Walgreens, art supply store, hardware store and everything within a couple of blocks. I miss the old neighborhood a little just, because it was so cute. But overall I am much happier! And no more crappy roommate– I have the place all to myself! :)

Well I'm glad my interpretation was incorrect and you found somewhere more compatible for you although it sounds like it did initially have some Hexagram 60ish about it.
