Hi! Hello!

I have the opportunity to request a transfer in the south of France. I do not know if it will be accepted or if it would be good for me to live there.
I asked the yi: I wish to live in the south of France. What do you recommend?

Le yi answered
37-> first 9, second 6, third 9, 4th 6, 6th 9
result: 47

I never had so much yaos changing, don't know what it means:duh:. I think it's not good at all (47) :eek:.

Thanks for your help

37-47

Generally I think it says you need to be firmly committed to the idea to make it work, as you will be away from your support group, your family. What if you don't like it there, and get homesick?

Suggets that this represents a schism between your financial and emotional "clans." Where are your friends and family based? How will you see them? The people of France are marvelous, I can testify, but you will presumably be in a culture foreign to you where everything is new and you hear a different language all day long. The telephone rings and on the other end is somebody you must communicate with without body language, using pure language skills. Are you ready? Are you going by yourself or will you have someone to fall back on for "home style" conversation? For me, the most difficult part of living in a foreign country -- even one that speaks English as well -- is that all of the reference points for relaxation, humour, and even what is beautiful and valuable, are different. Hexagram 37 and that changing lines all refer to the comforts of home and feeling you are among your compadres, your extended family and friends.

What is your purpose in going there? If it's wanting a complete change and challenge, wanting French culture above all else, then you are fine. If you want to move your present lifestyle to another place and enjoy just part of what surrounds you, you are going to wear yourself out: Hexagram 47.

Huge difference. Then the choice is simply related to how you contact your family, how you stay in touch with friends, whether you will feel you somehow stepped out of the frying pan and into the fire. South of France is gorgeous. Train service is so good too, and relatively inexpensive for people to visit you. But for some reason, it doesn't look like the Yi is recommending it. UNLESS, you are moving toward friends/family or something you have missed? Are you tired out from being away from that part of the country? Missing the sunshine? Not so likely as the first interpretation, but I'm trying to turn the puzzle to see what else could be indicated.:hug:

I was hoping, Arabella, that you would offer to sell Regardie your home in France. Advertisement pays. Of course, France is a big place, and it might not be suitable. Still, one hopes, and it possibly might solve problems for both of you.

Ah, would be a great plan! Unfortunately, the property isn't in the South. If it were I might not be selling!:hug:

As your question is posed in the negative it is perhaps a bit tricky to apply the casting, but being as careful as I know how -- I'd imagine that 37.2 -- applied to the question of what you might be losing not to get a transfer -- means that all you forfeit is getting to the South of France and realising that it doesn't suit you, it's not your place, and you feel that you don't fit in.

That background hexagram 9 I would view as contentment in the small things. So although you might gain something that seems larger or more significant in the overall, it will content you less than what you have now.

It's a big decision I'd imagine. So maybe difficult to make on one casting of the Yi, but your answers seem to say consistently that you'd be happier where you are. :bows:
