Hi all , as a newbie here , i introduce myself.(srr for not so good english)
I,m a 39 year old man who,s been interested for 15 years in zen and mystiscm.
I,m living in a village just out of Antwerp Belgium.
My love is working with my horse (he,s a great mirror) and i also enjoy Zazen.
Since 3 years i use the I Ching on a regular base.
While on a horse course in Denmark (K.F Hempfling) i learned about throwing the coins for
your purpose on earth. So with that question in mind "whats my meaning here ?
i got number 56 without any 6,s or 9,s.
How should i see this hexagram.
All help welcome :)

:)

nice reading.

today was watching "the sheltering sky" movie , where the following quote is from.

Port Moresby: Well, terra firma.
Tunner: We're probably the first tourists they've had since the war.
Kit Moresby: Tunner, we're not tourists. We're travelers.
Tunner: Oh. What's the difference?
Port Moresby: A tourist is someone who thinks about going home the moment they arrive, Tunner.
Kit Moresby: Whereas a traveler might not come back at all.
Tunner: You mean *I'm* a tourist.
Kit Moresby: Yes, Tunner. And I'm half and half.

Hex 56 popped into my mind.

travelers at terra incognita aren't we all ?

Welcome aboard

I kept getting this hex when asking about a friend of mine who is a Sagittarius, the key phrase for Sagittarius is "I seek"

Have you ever seen Mad Men? Season 1 Episode 8, a flashback scene to when don was a boy and a hobo came by their farm and asked if their was some work he could do in exchange for a meal. Later when asked he told don that he had had a life with a steady job and a family but every night he could not sleep, then he decided to leave it all behind and become a drifter and sleep under the stars and ever since he slept like a baby every night. He also teaches don the hobo's code (thats the name of the episode) chalk drawing that "men of the rail" would leave on gate posts of people houses to let each other know what can be found there and one of the symbols meant a bad man lives here, don's father was not kind... the money don's mother had promised the hobo, the father withheld, but the hobo said nothing of it and continued on his way.

I think 56 is a about how you must behave as a guest but also about what true freedom is, giving something up (home possessions) to wander and seek whatever it is you want but also never to hamper or hem in other people's freedom, in this way you can continue to hit the road a find homes with people willing to offer you a meal, literally or metaphorically I suppose.
