I threw the coins for the first time ( in this life time) the other night with my question being " if i stay in B.C what will be the outcome"

I just moved here a couple of months ago to avoid a brutal Ontario (Canada) winter and feel this is a pattern of avoidance and continuous uprooting. I have been mobile since 1994 shifting back and forth from University (Windsor Canada) in another city, then back to parent's home... to Teacher's college (North Bay Canada) in another city then off to South Korea for 5years then to Thailand...India...and Back to Toronto for 2years.

I have been running away or chasing something since 94 and just last March decided that B.C would be a safe and less extreme in it weather. I was hoping that this area would embrace me and encourage me to grow roots, establish a flourishing yoga business (etc) and be my new home. I wish to stay in Canada as we are very stable (tectonically speaking) spiritually warm and... well, it is a very powerful place to develop myself.
(*needless to say the island I am living on has received the most snow since the 40's and the coldest temperature since '69 --i was initially distressed with this inhospitable response to my move-- i have decided i was taking the weather too personally... and that with the cold and snow, perhaps i too should chill out!)

This was what the coins uncovered ... T - tail / H - head (i'm using pennies)

6 ----o---- H H H 9
5 --------- H T T 7
4 ---- ---- T H H 8
3 ---- ---- T H H 8
2 --------- H T T 7
1 ----o---- H H H 9

Here is how I read this --- since throw 1 and 6 are changing
the 1st reading is hexigram 61 --inner truth -zhong fu and change to :

---- ----
---------
---- ----
---- ----
---------
---- ----

After lines 1 and 6 change to broken yang the hexigram is 29 --the abysmal - k'an ...

...i dont love the knots in my tummy... can someone please hold my hand in virtual space and time through this one?

i am totally open to the reading... i have no fear of drowning in the abysmal water... i know that i will be taken care of in this and future lives...
now is now though and i would like to have an idea about how long i might be treading water for

Dear Saralien,
Holding your hand...

How convinced are you that BC is the right place to settle and have your business? Somehow this reading gives me the impression that you could be inwardly longing to be elsewhere....or that you have an underlying inkling that this is not the place you will call home...? It is just my impression, mind you. I could be wrong. BUt something about 61.6 suggests to me that your conscious intent may be at odds with a deeper knowing....

You say you have only just begun casting the coins.....are you familiar with the texts at all?

I love your "aeturnus optimystic" by the way!

Blessings, Bamboo

*hugs*

thank you thank you bamboo...
sometimes it is an astral embrace that brings me the strongest feelings of connectedness.

i am not very familiar at all with the readings of the I-Ching
i have a very old copy of 'the pocket i-ching' by melyan & chu circa 1977
-- i literally JUST threw the coins for the 1st time in this life the other night
and was happy with the 'inner truth' turn out-- THEN there was some thing
that prompted me to double check my order... the solid yang changing to broken,
i thought i misinterpreted the whole thing.

the correct reading is zhong-fu? did i read it RIGHT?? and is the other hexigram (for the future) not the abysmal (water) ken?

to elaborate on your intuition regarding my desire to be elsewhere... i wish to return to that where we came from, and i dont mean the womb -- BEFORE that. i know i am here now, so in the spirit of being present in the moment and wishing to establish some roots, canada is where i hope to settle for a few years anyway. i LONG to be off this planet... but i have a job to do here, so i best complete it before disembodying.

i hope to learn more of this I-Ching... the process resonates with me beautifully.

namaste,

Hi, Saralien.

Your lines were at the outer edges. Line 1 has ulterior designs for what truth is found, and that is unsettling. Line 6 tries to create a heaven through words, which brings misfortune.

Not to say your reading is "bad", because it's "good" to know your relationship with your question, which in this case is an ominous 61, and a dangerous 29.

You seem eager to move on, but have you gotten to the center of your life here yet?

Thanks for your compliment on the site.

A safe place, that's an interesting view of 61, with strong lines on the outside and open in the inside.

Dear Saralien,
I'm not experienced enough to help you with interpretation. In fact, I believe a similar life-feeling of unsettled/displacement/searching/something-or-other, similar to one you describe so eloquently here is what brought me to the I Ching, as well as what led me to this wonderful community of kind and intuitively wise souls.
So, while I may not have accurate interpretation assistance for you, I wanted you to know I hear you and I identify with your experience... and I'm sending you positive energy regarding this situation!

the image of 61 seems a safe place, but the first line and the 6th don't suggest a position of safety. uncertainty at line one, concerning the clientele perhaps. line 6 suggests expecting more than perhaps what this place can actually provide. Difficulties ...29.
your goal is worthy, is your inner truth telling you that what you hope to achieve here will not meet you expectations? Even the weather seemed to speak to you. Are there any other possible locales that you have considered? Finding the ideal place of rest and unproductivity may take a bit more searching. ...unless you are already so settled in and begun your work......then 61> 29 suggests you may need to well-prepared, and cautioned not to dream too big initially. there may be difficulties to contend with.

61.1.6>29

The 29 -- fear and danger -- could be the situation you were coming from, not the situation that is coming up in the future. That remains to be seen.

In getting 61.1.6 you are being told some very important things. First, stay alone by yourself and center yourself. You are in a crisis over how you are going to earn your living -- is it not true?

Maybe you're thinking how you're going to hype your yoga practice to get the business going in this location. That's not a good idea. Hex 61 is telling you to be absolutely honest and not boast about ("market") yourself.

Quiet yourself utterly. And then listen to your inner knowing. Do not listen to or worry about other people. Do not get involved with dubious people. There seems to be some ill will or previous misfortune or disappointment to be released . . .

Line 6 moving says in some way you are overenthusiastic or over-ambitious. It is a warning not to make promises you cannot keep. Do not boast. Or it can just mean: "Watch what you say. Don't be so full of words." Or it could just mean: "You feel triumphant at having made this move successfully. Avoid seeking even greater triumphs at this time. The sense of triumph, like the cock crowing, never lasts very long anyway." You see, the Yi can mean many things, and sometimes it means many things all at once, addressing your question on multiple levels.

Hex 61 is usually about opening the heart center and listening deeply. Be open hearted and open minded . . .

Notate your hexagrams like this: 61.1.6>29. The sign ">" means "changing to."

This 29 could mean you might end up isolated in this location. The IC teaches that we are in trouble if we are not part of a larger group. It does not value independence but teaches that we should find like-minded people with whom to associate.
