Hi, I'm in some financial straits and been waiting for a propitious time to take action I received Hexagram 24 with changing lines 3 and 6. Now 6 doesn't look very auspicious at all. Now this brings up the new hexagram 22 which is pretty good. My question is what am I to make of this presentation of 24 (Return) with 3 and especially 6?
Thanx!

Yes you are right

Your analysis of my situation is dead on. Now what about the second hexagram 22? How does this fit in, it seems so unusual. Also, you say such an auspicious time has in all likelyhood passed. Could this in fact be a warning to take action ASAP? Again what am I to make of #22??

Thanks for the very sensible analysis!!

Yes. O.K. Let me fill you in a a few details that are probably important that I didn't make mention of. I have inquired about taking certain actions for employment for several months and things were not panning out. On several occasions the I Ching stated that times were not right and I was in a negative period not of my own causing. Now I am also an astrologer and what the I Ching has been saying is very true. I am presently coming to the end of a Saturn- Pluto conjunction combined with a Uranus-Saturn square. On top of this I just had Mars set off an eclipse on Pluto in my 11th house. Basically this spells out a hugely stressful time. I have been consulting the I Ching to pick a propitious time to get some work. So what we have here is a long period when the I Ching says things are none too good for taking action.....hold off, and now I get this reading (24). Now the above mentioned transiting aspects are rapidly diminshing in influence and I'm wondering if this is saying to me "forget about your heretofore negative assumptions and despair, take action now!" Whew! This is definitely a wild time for me. What do you think of a second inquiry to clarify the situation???

Thank you for staying with this thread!

Addendum

Oh I should add by the way that this Saturn-Pluto aspect typically brings one's life to a grinding halt stopping progress and the Uranus-Saturn square takes apart the structures that have been built. Together....chaos!

I sympathize with your getting 24.6 after wht sounds like you were remaining alert for when to make a move. It can feel like a slap in the face.

While I am great believer in waiting for the right timing, I also agree with twilight, in that too much emphasis on oracles and astrology can effectively paralyze you. "Repeatedly returning" to a mindset of : "Should I move, or should I not" makes you stuck.

I don't think 24.6 is always about a opportunity passed, tho possible. It could also mean, as you say, that not taking action will be disastrous. This could sometimes be the IF NOT NOW, WHEN? line. Appearances (22) may not always be a reason not to take action, appearances can be misleading, a surface view. Dont take too seriously.

this is your turning point. Follow every lead, set something in motion, every day make some effort, and dont be snagged by results, results will follow eventually, but your moving sets the water in flow

Yep. You are both quite right. When there is too much reliance on the use oracles and astrology to guide one's life it just may be that reason flies out the window. I was just reminded that oracles and such are useful adjuncts for guiding one's life but not a substitute for common sense. If a train is heard in the distance and you discover you're walking along some train tracks, is it really necessary to consult oracles and astrologers?
Reason has its place, n'est pas?

Thanks for the insights and for caring!
